i think its more about techniques and experience with the medium. Kim jung gi uses a brush ink pen alot but trying one out for less than a few hours for the first time sucks.

Its not that they are not exiting, its just that they are really limiting so I think they can get boring fast, also the high end ones seem really pricey especially if you want a lot of colours. Oils, pastels, watercolors/tempera seem more versatile. The vibrant and clean colors do look cool I ll give you that

I use them for car sketches and industrial deign. Skeren uses them, Chip Foose uses them, most of my favorite car designers went to MAMI in Russia, like Maxim Shershnev, Miroslav Dimitrov and Roman Egorov, and all of them use markers a lot. It's kind of the main medium if you draw anything other than trap furry tentacle hentai.
