Why should I seethe when I see a 12 years old drawing incredible art?
I could break her neck in like 5 seconds. WTF XD

Probably socioeconomic status. Having parents that support doing art seriously is a lot more likely if they don't picture you starving down the road. You're more likely to be in a situation conducive to learning, more likely to be in a school that will have at least decent arts programs for electives. You're more likely to have the emotional support to continue when you're discouraged. I'm sure there's a genetic component but I have no idea how you'd quantify that. You get an enormous boost from those things, sure, but if you don't have the drive to get through the hard parts you're going to quit, and it's probably a lot easier to quit if you know you're going to be financially OK no matter what.

This, but unironically. Somehow everyone has a hundred walls between them and this, but "talented" people just have this.

This was Jean Giraud at around 20-21 years of age, it’s not particularly good work, hell I don’t even think it’s mediocre, but he got substantially better over time. He had to, he was a comic artist under strict deadlines and was drawing day in and day out. I’m not saying that he didn’t have a spark or talent but he had been drawing for years already BEFORE even getting to pic related. Stress is good for you, comparing yourself to other artists to see what you’re doing wrong and how you can improve is also good, but there’s a line where it becomes detrimental and talent becomes an excuse. So just focus on what you can do to make yourself better, not what others already have.

Talent is the ability to learn fast and see your own mistakes faster.
