first serious drawing done from imagination since I started grinding fundies in June.
Any fellow ADDers with advice on how to actually study effectively?

The longest streak I did was 6 hours a day for maybe a week, walking around my house drawing furniture, doing gestures on sketch daily. But that is unsustainable for me, I end up just feeling burnt out and feel guilty for not meeting my own expectations of how much practice I should be doing.

There are plenty of programs to choose from. If you have money to or are able to pirate, Photoshop and Clip Studio are great choices. If you want something free theres Krita or Paint Tool Sai (windows only). Just watch some youtube videos and choose whatever program appeals to you.

Pick a brush that is pressure sensitive, something like the default hard round with opacity in photoshop is a staple pick. Don't overthink it.

I'm starting from scratch, doing basic copying with grids, I guess this is supposed to train my hand-eye coordination. Examples usually use photos of real people, but would anime heads suffice for now? Might as well enjoy the grind a bit, even if these are much simpler than photos.

These are today excercises, had more time to draw today so had some fun. For the tonal matching in the upper left I traced the face, made some mistakes 'cause I didn't sharp my pencil (kinda got hooked and forgot to do so). Anyone else find painting to be much easier than line drawings? My line drawings look terrible and I have to actively work much harder with them. When I'm painting I just kind of instinctively get things to look correct (or something along those lines anyway) and it's just so much more enjoyable.

Muscles aren't too terrible for a beginner. You do have some nice intuition especially for the leg muscles. But the arms and abdomen are still too bubbly that's not how muscle works. External muscles are beautiful don't be scared to jump into anatomy study. It's a beautiful machinery.

1. should i just pirate photoshop and ditch krita? most of tutorials and western professionals use it. does it have better workflow,brushes,blending modes etc.

2. what is a flow brush? krita wiki does not explain shit but its one of the basic ones.what relation does it have with my tablet

3. do people change brush settings a lot? i change spacing sometimes. and do good people use a lot of provided brushes?

4. is it normal that i cant draw a good curved line and have to use stabilizer %90 of the time.the tablet is much more precise than i expected and slightest vibration fucks the line up.Should i use provided glove to eleminate friction? I feel like im cheesing rn and this will hinder me later on

5. shading colors directly is retarded and best way is to color after grayscaling shadows/light right? but i cant use the blending modes well. some tutorials just color the image from grayscale instantly just by general stroking with huge brush and it looks amazing

My anatomy is too /beg/ to give much more meaningful advice than this, but your ears are too high. Feel out your cheekbones on your face, the ear canals will almost always be at that level. So, they should be slightly below the eyes.

Anime is okay later on, but it doesn't emphisise on details of the head the artists already know and are accounting for. Draw real heads to pick up on those dimensions and you'll be able to pick and choose how you want to implement it when you try to draw the anime style.

I will suggest cleaning up your lines before coloring.
Do not avoid drawing hands. Please draw your hands.
For coloring. Separate each part of the body with a flat tone and divide them into different layer. For example the hair, the face, the 1 arm the top, the torso, the panties and the legs. So you can work on top of that layer and have a clean edge and save you a lot of time.

It's completely normal. There is not one single person in history that could draw well the first try. Not even full on autistic people that can draw photos of city landscape they saw once. It's all about grinding.
Started with a small tablet, Wacom intuos draw, tho I really love the trad feel nowadays.
