Am I the only one that finds cringe af to put dates on drawings?

>> No.4937889

Yes you are the only person in the world. Out of over 7 billion people you alone find it bothersome.

Thanks Kings, I didn't draw consistently for all the ten years and my skill kind of decayed while I was on an art hiatus (2 years), but this year was the year I took digital seriously and went into it harder, here's a piece I did from April for Sikh Heritage Month here in Canada.

But in accordance to OP I still think adding dates or at the very lease the YEAR alone is super crucial, both for reference in the future and for people to see what year a piece was created by you.

10 years from now you'll flip through your sketch book and ask "when did I do this? Musta been circa 2019...or was it 2020. I think it was before christmas. But I didn't have my wacom when I drew this....I think, so it must have been before blah blah blah."
Dates are handing to organise things by.
If you dont want to date ever drawing, atleast just put a beginning and end date at on the first page.

Thanks bros, and regarding stiffness I think it's because I primarily use a lot of sharp/angular lines as opposed to soft curves and shit.

Yes, dates mark a period of time a person is at, and seeing that improvement only makes the art better as time goes on
