i sketch on paper then put a grid over it, draw a grid on the pumpkin and carve it out square by square with a dremel. you don't have to go all the way through your pumpkin. just get the outer layer off and then you can scrape the inside to get it pretty thin and it glows pretty good. thanks for taking an interest

I had a thought - since you're already drawing so many skeletons, you can later take advantage of the gained knowledge when learning anatomy. If you want to get into that later on, I suggest getting yourself Bridgman's "Constructive Anatomy" and paying close attention to which bones each muscle attaches to. You should have a much easier time learning this way!

Yeah, I find that the more "bang" a word already has the harder it is to think of anything that isn't just taking it literally. In those cases I usually just try to combine them with the first random thing that comes to my mind, that usually gets things going for me. In this case it was "mobster", so my thoughts eventually jumped to a "coral reef man" that guards himself with his fish associates, ala Capone Bege from One Piece.

Yeah, the first pieces I did here were mostly just me being out of practice with pens and finished drawings in general - but I would lie if I said I haven't improved through the course of the month. It's my first time ever doing a focused challenge like this, and I'd recommend it to anyone (after warning them first about the amounts of pain and suffering involved lol)

Just bought a nib pen after using technical pens for a while. I heard you have to clean the oil the manufacturer puts on it before drawing, but I've tried:
-dipping it in boiling water
-hovering it over flame
-brushing it with detergent for 30+ seconds
-brushing it with toothpaste for 30+ seconds
-rubbing isopropyl alcohol on it
-rubbing spit on it

And when I dip it in ink it still doesn't look uniform on the pen, it looks like pic related. Is there maybe another reason why this is happening? Maybe it's shit ink quality?

That's how mine looks when I dip. As long as you're holding vertically, some small amount should run through the split in the metal. If you push harder, it splits wider, and you get a thicker line.
