We all know that tracing/photobashing is the future, so let's share tips for these newage techniques so we don't get caught.

>flip the canvas so it's harder to recognize the pose
>change some of the lines so they don't line up perfectly with the reference photo

>> No.4927518

Look for references in old stuff (movies, porn, images) so no one can easily recognize them. Also people are less likely to recognize a frame of video compared to a still regular image.

This, it's easy AF to be a coomer artist these days, just trace pornhub

Yeah before that there was no reference or any way of tracing, phub was the first website to upload static and moving images of women. What a time to be alive!!

you can barely see it, it's just a line under her right eye from the glasses, there's like a highlight there. idk how to describe it lol

This is literally just drawing with reference, not tracing. Like even ignoring the anime girl there are elements in the picture that are way off angle and size wise from their real life counterparts

Only if you are fine making boring, useless trash that doesn't even need to be drawn to begin with.

this is mostly a paintover.

it's a cool technique, but I wish people were more creative than simply re-drawing the reference, you can do a lot with it.

Ok so tracing and photobash has very little to do with each other. I'll photobash the shit out of a topic because I need to produce x ideas in y time and it's not about me and how great of a wonderful majestic artist I might be, but a business. Photobashing saves time, nothing else. It's not like anyone's photobashing shit together to then toss it down the customer's (you) throat in games or wherever. It's just for bringing up ideas, and whatever is selected will be properly worked on.

Tracing is just crap morons do who can't draw a straight line. Guess it's also fine but I don't think it saves any time so what's the point?

Congrats, you found the power of reference.

Next step, realizing that you can change it to your will and using it makes you a better artist.

Yes but if I remember correctly Craig Mullens says you shouldn't rely on it cuz you get lackluster results it is much better for you to do it yourself so you can shape the shadows for a more appealing image.

It's from a workshop Miles Johnston gave at his atelier when he was like 20 or something. Meanwhile the kids on /ic/ are making trace threads and complaining about getting porn ads on their phones.
