I've been drawing cars for years dude. Just hundreds and maybe thousands by now. I can draw a car in my sleep. The thing with cars is they're not organic so you can't get away with asymmetry so that's got to be you focus. You gotta nail the perspective. Everything else is a bonus. You have to nail the box in perspective perfectly. When it comes to proportions and style, you can practice those by drawing from the side view. And then apply that to the other angles. Have fun

Tried to make freehand perspective drawing using some blueprints but I made a lot of mistakes in perspective and it got really messy after one point. I think I should print a grid or work in digital for this kind of stuff and choose an easier car.

>> No.4933664

>>4933523
Yes, choose an easier car without a sloped front. I wouldn't do grid, I'd measure the proportions of each bulk element of the car first (the bonnet size vs the passenger part vs the boot part could broken into ratios of 2:3:1 for one type of car for example, or a VW Beetle 1:2:1) within each element do the same again (i.e lights sitting 2/3 below the top of the bonnet). The same way you break up drawing a face or person.

no se como se dice in espanol, pero...

construction is the frame -- the structure, like the wood pillars in a house.

This is my first drawing/painting. Perspective is all fucked but I don't think it looks too bad anyway. The paint is tragic though.

For proportions just learn perspective and draw cars. For how cars are put together, get a haynes manual of your favorite car and try to draw it with all the pieces together I guess? The best way to get a feel for the different parts of a car is to work on them though.

>> No.4974881

>>4974851
What you mean that's a missing point? You even said that a person asking it would be retarded. Obviously, because there are a myriad of reasons of why to draw. That's why I said that after that faggot asked this idiotic question, why draw instead of tracing. You seemed to understand that but at same didn't, are you nuts?

>> No.4974924

>>4974881
drawing as a whole is not the same as drawing a concrete and specific thing you fucking brainlet holy shit is it that hard to understand
it's not about just tracing vs drawing
it's about tracing vs drawing something that's inherently static, with barely any capacity of distortion in regards to motion, yet complex in it's construction
and peeps here already gave the answer, such as >>4940729
take your retarded "hurr durr den why draw" brain and fuck off

>Oh but no, this drawing isn't drawing, I mean, I'm drawing but not actually drawing drawing. You see, it ain't drawing, I'm just, I'm just doing an "inherently static, with barely any capacity of distortion in regards to motion, yet complex in it's construction" Reeeeee! That ain't drawing (even though I am actually drawing). The differences in drawing are so far apart that you may not even consider it drawing (even though, in the end, it actually is just a drawing). But
it doesn't count because....
