Hello where are some easy but good guides for learning anatomy? Yes I know there are all the standard books and stuff but I don't have the time to go through all of those. I'm not trying to become a professional artist anyway I just want my art to look decent at some point. I tried using Loomis measurements and for some reason it still turned out like shit and looked completely wrong despite the fact that I followed literal measurements so wth?

There're a few differences on the shape of the head specially around the jaw area your drawing is a little more thicker than it should but there's nothing to kick your ass about. Nice effort.

Heya, I'm a beg from a previous thread who was having trouble with drawing on a tablet - figured out something that might help other anons!

By going into your Wacom settings you can adjust tip pressure sensitivity. I cranked that bad boy all the way to the max and bam, it feels so much better drawing, feels like I'm drawing on paper.

Question for anons - there is such a vast ocean of things that I have yet to learn that I am honestly at a stupor as to what should I start with. Form contruction? Gestures? Anatomy? Doing studies?

I downloaded like 10 different books and don't know which one I should start with. If some anon could point me at a direction I would be much obliged.

So I've never drawn before really, and I bought a tablet so I could get into drawing again. What's a good way to do exercises and learn poses and anatomy? I figured I'd start with using an image of a model and then I'd trace over it and try to draw construction blocks and then the general outline and then I'd try to replicate it free handed on the left. Is that a decent practice method? I'm more of a visual learner so reading is only my last resort.
I've never drawn with a draw pad either so I'm still trying to get used to that.

measurements such as the width of the shoulders, the length of the legs and the size of the torso compared to the pelvis, the width of the arms and the placement of the kneecaps(?) as well as the facial features are all out of wack and it really invalidates any amount of detail that you might put into it.

Not sure what you’re asking, are you asking whether you should actually grid up your vanishing points and use a ruler etc? I think the idea is that you practice proper grids etc with proper vanishing points to get used to 3d space, then once you get a better grip you can roughly sketch ideas freehand and then fix it with proper vanishing points etc as necessary afterwards.

Here's what I did:
Drawabox simple forms lessons
Lots of gesture on CroquisCafe and Quickposes
Bargue plates (probably the most important thing)
Drew lots of heads and studied the individual features of the face
Copied artists I liked- dana gibson, mucha
Watched Huston and Vilppuu videos

The most important thing is to draw a lot and not get discouraged. Practicing > not practicing because you're worried that your practice isnt the best/most efficient.

i'm doing superimposed lines with each line being redrawn 8 times on top of eachother while drawing with my shoulder.

It tires the hell out of my shoulder and im being really hard on myself as i have high standards on myself just wanting to go forward and draw weeb shit but every video ive watched says to stick with fundamentals which is hard to wrap my head around as it is

>Remember, the difficult part is understanding the orientation of the surface and direction in 3D space. If you master perspective, you likely don't need to practice this kind of shading at all. On the other hand, shading can be a good way to get into perspective as well, so it works in both direction.
