just look up the 6 basic types of folds and study and collect those. Since I'm a nice guy I'll just give you a handy acronym I use. Just remember the term Pizzas Harddrive....

I know it sounds retarted but it was the only way for me to remember and recall them on command.

PZZSHDD

Pipe Fold
ZigZag
Spiral
Half-lock
Diaper
Drop.

Also pic related is a book i recommend. Good luck finding it digitally online as I could never find one but i did buy a hardcopy for dollars.

There was someone a little while ago asking for photo still life references, too. Bro, take a towel, drape it over an object or hang it from a wall, and draw from life!

So is that the book were the "6 basic folds" thing comes from?.
I tried sudying hoghart but i found it all a bit incrompehensible.

>> No.4890418

>>4890408
no but it has most of them including one that the author made that has to do with the alphabet but It just went over my head.
What this does have though is techniques to draw folds/drapery quickly with a cool diagram of common tension points on the body. I think the book was made for ad agency illustrators to get up and running quick.

image dimensions are inconstant. file names are all over the place too.
no individual pages since I realized it was going to take me forever to cut and save each image. If anyone wants to make it better go on ahead.

Thank you for sharing anon. This books seems quite useful.
Here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/dfq62bj1kegw3np/The+Art+of+Drapery+–+Mario+Cooper.pdf/file

I put together I quick PDF for everyone since it might be a bit more convenient to read and carry around than the folder. I don't really have accounts on storage sites, so it'd be good if any of you feel like archiving it.
I'll share it on the artbooks thread just in case as well. Since people there tend to archive stuff. Hopefully this will be helpful.

Should I have made it into a .cbr or .cbz? I thought it'd be the most practical since any device should be able to open it.
Granted I'm also not too familiar with compiling raw images like that into a PDF without going through something like Indesign which I didn't have at hand at the moment.
I'd like to know what formats can be more convenient/useful if there's any though. I usually don't compile scans and stuff like this but it'd be interesting to learn more.
Hope the PDF is still useful for everyone though.

cbr/cbz is just a archive file. even if you don't have a comic reader you can just extract the images and look at them and edit them.
