At this point in history it is basically a cycle. People are weebs while they are teens, spend their highschool years drawing anime styled shit. Then they hit their 20s and feel ashamed of that and graduate up to drawing cartoons in their own style. Seems like half the animators and stroyboarders out there were weebs when they were 15 but now will never ever do that again and stick to modern cartoon drawing instead.

I thought anime was the gayest shit while young, only now that I’m pushing 30 and got into ink do I see the complexity and appeal of manga art (anime is still gay).
Like, I never read Dragon Ball and wasn’t impressed with the anime as a kid, but a couple of years ago I started reading it because it was recommended to me and the art is amazing.
