Any tips and tricks to make drawing with a mouse easier?

I tried using a tablet but I just can't get used to it.

You suck at drawing with a tablet probably because you also suck at drawing in general. Grind your fundies for now, and then it will be easier to draw with a tablet.

just get used to it. tablets feel odd at first but you get used to it and get 100x more control than a clumsy mouse

hold your mouse as a pencil

>> No.4847958

Just make traditional lineart and then color it with lasso tool + soft brush with the mouse. Not even poorfriends have an excuse.

If you can already draw somewhat use the lasso tool to carve out shapes. Otherwise just use a pencil.

been drawing on mouse for 3 years, dont listen to retards saying you cant mouse draw ever, the tool literally doesnt matter if you know how to draw you can fucking draw with your feet
first things first, lower the sensitivity down to 6/11 in windows, 400 dpi, large mousepad
next is to get an actual proper grip, dont death grip the mouse, use a claw or fingertip grip
also use an optical mouse

the strength of the mouse lies in its extreme accuracy and slow pace, but its weakness is doing very large and quick line strokes

Im really curious what your work looks like. Do you only use a mouse?

you should switch to a tablet youre restricting yourself but you dont realize it. ive met a few other online who refused to switch from a mouse because they felt so comfortable with it, it's silly.

Asking this is kind of like asking what brush you should buy to play with your butthole. Sure, technically you can do it, but it has no relevance to art.

I draw with a mouse all the time, you just gotta get the mileage in. Draw a bunch of shapes, draw a bunch of pictures, draw from reference. Your hand WILL get used to it. Pic related, it's my work when I draw with a mouse

Thats not terrible but it doesnt have the flow you can achieve with a pen. Another thing bothering me is his tie it should have a part connecting under his collar.. or is it a clip-on tie?

I used to use this method when I didn’t have a tablet.

It's a detail that I fucked up and didn't see until now, hah, my bad. And I agree about the flow. Long strokes of lineart are really tough to achieve with a mouse. You're basically restricted to certain styles without that range of motion.

You're like one of those people on a mission to prove to the world, or worse, get other artists to prove to the world, that Krita or Gimp is as good as the paid programs like Photoshop or CSP.

Not spending the couple of minutes / hours / days that it takes to get used to a tablet is equally fucked up as refusing to pay 25$ for CSP when it would save you time, money and grief every single time you draw something for the rest of your life.
