what about anatomy? i've recently got out of drawing boxes for the figure ---> filling in contours around it, to starting with a skeleton, building muscles onto it and then building flesh on top of that, before finalizing the contours. my drawing comes out much more proportional and 3D that way, i know it is a lot more work but i feel like im getting more of a grasp of form and where everything goes, what bulges and recedes where, and why. am i doing it wrong?

I noticed that it doesn't actually matter unless you care about it.
I've met numerous artists who seem to get by with their work but absolutely lack any and all fundamentals of perspective, anatomy and gesture. It's absolutely mind boggling.
