Possible to learn how to draw using mainly a graphics tablet?

>> No.4817473

No
Of course not
Why would you even ask this

>> No.4817474

Why the fuck do begs all want to do digital before touching pen and paper first? The computer isn't going to make your broken Loomis heads look any better.

>> No.4817477

>>4817464
Yes, is easier T B H

remember you can ctrl + z

>> No.4817480

>>4817473
Why not? What makes it so different than a piece of paper?

>> No.4817483

>>4817464
no absolutely not
just look at other creative art forms? do you think there are people who make music mainly on computers, there are people who write mainly on computers? literally impossible

>> No.4817486

>>4817480
Op is a fucking retard

>> No.4817488

>>4817464
Yes, but everyone recommends you at least start on paper for a reason. I switched to digital a bit early in hindsight and it led to me making much messier drawings because I never learned to care about line economy the way you have to on paper.

>> No.4817501

>>4817486
It's a simple fucking question. If I draw a line on a piece of paper, then do the same thing with a graphics tablet the end result is gonna be the same. It's just a different medium but it's still inherently gonna produce the same result. So just tell me why you think a graphics tablet is bad for learning,

>> No.4817554

>>4817488
All the line economy bullshit can be dealt with by disabling ctrl+z

>> No.4817588

>>4817480
its black for one. ive never seen paper be black.

>> No.4817607

OP, yes. You can learn to draw digitally. Everyone's just messing with you.

of course you can learn just using a graphics tablet.
but honestly though, i think you end up developing bad habits. because of the size of the tablet, you are most likely going to train yourself to draw from your wrist instead of your arm.
youre gonna rely too much on ctrl+Z (undo) so youre probably going to end up not learning from your mistakes.

>> No.4818377

>>4817464
you cant, u need to use the blood of the animals you hunt to paint

>> No.4820110

i am a beginner. With Digital i am far more comfortable to go freely with my drawings. When i am drawing on paper and a fuck up can fuck up the rhythm and just make me not draw for another whole day. While on my tablet idc about making mistakes or anything since CTRL Z exists! what i am trying to say is that through digital u will make progress far more quicker than an actual pen and paper!

>> No.4820123

>He's never seen construction paper

>> No.4820125

>>4820110
Youll also stunt your growth by using undo as a crutch but you're a beginner and aren't going to listen to me on this.

>> No.4820148

>>4817464
not from a tradcuck

>> No.4820893

>>4818358
not op
but most begs start drawing on tablets bigger than paper they would use otherwise
wasnt the case when i started, but now most tablets are at least close to 8"x11"

>> No.4820896

>>4817473
yes
of course you can
why would you even say this

>> No.4821889

>>4817464
If that's the tablet you're going to use, take it from someone who's used a screenless tablet before and start on paper. It's a lot less headache inducing.

Im not giving you the answer but since you end up doing the wrong thing anyway, I feel no need worry about potential competition.

>> No.4821931

>>4817483
is this ironic bcs all of those things are true

>> No.4822450

The thing is you have to fuck with different siftware and settings in digital which distracts you from your main objective that is drawing. Irl you can just crab any pencil and paper allowing you to concentrate on the real stuff.

>> No.4822576

>>4822450
Is this really an issue past setup? You just get your software, a couple of brushes and off you go.

>> No.4822681

>>4822576
No, it's not, he's full of shit.
Ignore the retards ITT, it's just a tool like any other. If you like it, use it. If you're interested in something else, try that.
It doesn't fucking matter, just start learning.
