I'm a furry artist and I've never once painted a lewd commission. Every time I open for commissions my slots fill within a day or two. I get far more work than I could ever handle and have the luxury of being choosy about which clients interest me enough to take them on. You don't HAVE to do porn. There are plenty of furries out there that are eager to pay for clean art. You need to be relatively skilled so that you stand out enough to gain fans and it may be the case that the bar is a bit higher if you're a clean artist.

But hey, do you want to live your life always taking the easy route? No you don't. You're asking for a heap of regret to fall on you later in life if you allow yourself to become a lesser version of what you could be. Don't give up. You have precious few years on this planet. Make it count. Become the artist you dream of yourself become someday and don't settle for anything less. If you dislike the idea of doing furry art regardless if its clean stuff or porn, don't bother. You'll never become as great an artist as you could be if you're chasing things that feel wrong to you. You will be immensely dissatisfied with yourself and start to hate art if you force yourself to do stuff you don't like. Don't fall into this trap. Best of luck.

Well there’s the artists who make everything look like a dog with a samey build but with addition or changes to the horns/ears/tail. Then there’s artists who explore different body types which I like. You can have a big bulky rhino or bison dude, a slender and spindly bird girl, a short and stocky mole, a tall and gangly giraffe, and so on. Artists who emphasize and exaggerate proportions based on different species are my favorite but they’re less common than the ones who just draw generic looking dogs/foxes/wolves.
