Discords are inherently bad. If it's a ghost town where you have to go out of your way to invite others then you're better off as an anon, if it's crowded then the mods will be sure to be an ass about no being mean and no people with shady history allowed.

i think you might use discord for the wrong purpose anon,discord isnt a shilling platform and people act like friends just to avoid problems.what you need is just 1 to 1 convos with people that you feel a connection with(hoping the guy feel that way about you too) and keep in touch for a while until you know them better and eventually you will both help each other on social media,but then again i am no expert my friendlist is very small

Yeah fuck art discords. I'll never join another one of those things as long as I live. I did more talking than drawing and it causes me to seek validation from literal whos that can barely draw better than the average /ic/ artist. It made me insecure about my own skills and fuck that noise. I want to get better no matter what the cost.

I'm better doing this on my own and just drawing from reference. Fuck art discords, fuck art communities, and fuck the fake hugboxes/communities that they pretend to be when they backstab and talk shit left and right.

Yep. Ive wasted so much time over the years since joining the wrong discord servers (ones that I didn't know were bad until I realized that I needed to leave to actually be productive). The experience is not the same for everyone though, some people thrive in that sort of environment or simply find the good ones. But for me, a server usually fairly quickly dies and then is deleted without warning and all the members ghost you, or it stays around long enough and gets big enough that it makes it impossible to for new users to get any engagement if they don't draw what everyone else is drawing or communicate in the same way everyone does. I think some personality types are just not suited for that group sorta format.
