If they keep a tight watch on their transaction on market places and keep an eye on the customer information: Yes.

But that's some incredibly small dick energy to actually hassle people over pirating digital content that can be easily copied and shared.

They also have much better things to be doing with their time.

It's 2020. Most artists should know piracy is a possibility, but it's an avenue for those to get a chance to try before they buy.

If you like any brushes you pirate, you SHOULD purchase them to support them and get future updates... But that's not an option for everyone.

How many brush makers are really going to notice their brushes being used in someone's art unless the artist announces what brushes they used? I would imagine the average Procreate brush maker isn't scouring the net for possible "unauthorized" use of the brushes they've made, and even if they were (God help them) they wouldn't be able to recognize their brushes in a piece of art.

Maybe some of those stamp brushes are easily recognizable, but anything else? No.

You need to experiment with using different brushes for blending. Also, try messing with the opacity, since that affects a brush's blending strength. There are brushes out there that are made just for blending purposes.

i picked up the commercial license for the sampler, so nothing you can’t get already for free. ive been mostly working with grainshader 4 fixed for retro ad mascot design experiments and other minimalist designs.

also thought debaser might be cool, but im not fond of the workflow for the vintage comics coloring and effects. the brushes are all right, but ive been inking with clip studio, my girlfriend picked it out because she wanted to try it.

i also got Distressed Press, but i cant figure out how to perform the displacement effect which is why I got it.

and lastly, i got grainshader because of the sampler

not sure how to share it as everything is over 6GB mainly because of Debaser.

also never uploaded anything before. i only have dropbox basic so thats not going to work.

used iPad Pro 12.9 Second Gen represents the best value right now.

Used 3rd gens aren't much cheaper than the current 4th gens brand new. Also don't bother with the Air, it's just a worse version of the 2nd Gen Pro.

my ipad pro 2018 12.9 died on me 3 days after the 1-year warranty expired.

i would still recommend ipad pro 2018 12.9 as it was great while it lasted, but definitely make sure your procreate is synced to cloud (it doesn't do it automatically though i had the icloud option on) and get the apple care for extended warranty. the ipad is powerful but delicate.

my old and smaller ipad lasted for 6 years and still going strong, which is why i didn't think i needed the extended warranty.

you can create a pixel brush by:
-create new brush
-Stroke path: all set to none
-Shape should be a white square (find one in the built in library)
-Set shape count to 16 - all others off or none - no filtering
-Grain also all white square; all set to max except rotation (leave at 0) - depth jitter at 0
-Rendering intense blending - flow 100
-Wet mix - Charge set to Max all else zero
-Color dynamics - your choice

>PROCREATE INSTALLATION: The brushes were originally created in Photoshop, so they are in the Photoshop .ABR format. In the latest versions of Procreate you can import Photoshop brushes for use as Procreate brushes.
I wonder if this guy has actually tested his brushes in Procreate, because it doesn't always work as expected.

In any case, thanks for sharing them! They do look very nice.

Wonder if anyone has tried any of these brushes (or any others from the maker like the Mid-Century ones) and how they fair out. (I’ve tried the halftone from them from the main mega and they’re pretty good.)

They seem nice but prices are legit highway robbery for what ya get, even bundled.

Ok guys, I’ll buy some brushes and post links, but you have to say which ones you’re looking for and where to find them. Don’t go crazy though. I dont have a ton of money. Just limit them to the one you want the most, and I’ll pick a couple

I really want the Dead Subtle pack from TGTS, but it's a little expensive:

Alternatively, the Samurai Ink set from Ink Gang Boss is another one I've been looking for, and it's cheaper:

I guess this is a reasonable place to ask; is the 2020 12.9” ipad pro worth getting? I have the 2019 10.2” one and it’s really nice but I’m wondering whether the battery is better on the ipad pro. A larger screen would be nice too but the battery would be the main selling point for me. Using mostly procreate and browsing 4chan

>> No.4793897

Apple rates every iPad's battery life at 10 hours. How this actually works out in real life usage varies a bit, I'm sure, but battery life tests I've seen for various iPad models puts Apple's battery life estimates at pretty close to accurate. So, if battery life is your main concern, you won't find the Pro to be an upgrade. The increased drawing area and beefier hardware are the main selling points (it's also compatible with the Apple Pencil 2, instead of just the old one).

Has anyone successfully downloaded Debaser from the Mega? Or does anyone have it where it's not in a zip?

Seen it's had issues before with other anons and it won't even unzip on my computer, let alone Ipad.

>> No.4796085

>>4795518
Well shit, I guess at some point this weekend I'm going to have to reupload it unzipped then. No idea why people are having trouble with it. Maybe some archive apps simply can't handle it because it's 5 GB? Because WinRAR extracts it just fine on my Windows 10 laptop.

>> No.4796202

>>4796085
I'd assume so. With it being a large chunk of data, anything could probably mess it up.
I did spend the night poking around and found a site that unzips it. Got it to work but a little less than half of the files couldn't be extracted or even previewed due to a "ZIP entry format error- did not find Local File Header signature for this entry". So idk if any in the mega of it are messed up or if it's on my end.
I downloaded the zip twice (one being this morning) and both come up with the same error with the same files. Hopefully that helps if there's an issue.

In my opinion, the latest iPad (with the 10.2" display) is a good choice for getting into using iPads for art. The wifi only iPad with 128 GB of storage is $429. The Apple pencil is $99. So for a tota of $528, you'll have a good starter setup.

It's a lot of money for some people, but the iPad is a nice device that can serve many purposes. I read ebooks on mine pretty often.

I agree with anon >>4801002 that the 10.2" is good for the price but only if you want to pay the bare minimum for it, as in the 32GB version of it at like 280$ + pencil 100$.
Anon's 500$ setup is too expensive for what it is.

The reason I state it's too expensive is because I recently acquired a Pro and the laminated screen is a notable difference. So if you're to spend money on a basic iPad which doesn't have a laminated screen, save money so you can reinvest it into an Air/Pro in the future.
Do NOT get the Air 3, it's broken and outdated. Wait for the Air 4 releasing next month.

Another answer to
>What’s the best bang for buck iPad for art?
in my opinion is a Pro 2018 at 600$ or less.

How do I get my black lineart to get colored by the flat color I use to paint in?
In pic related I painted in a layer below the layer with the black lineart, so naturally that's the result I got.
How do artists do that? Do they just spray big brushes over their lineart layer to make it not look black anymore?
Or does it have something to do with "masks" etc? I'm new to digital.
