theres a few ways to gain followers on twitter

1. Use hashtags. Yes you will get more engagement for drawing popular characters so do that if even just for improvement

2. Post your work in art share threads - find artists to follow since there are a lot of art communities that often make threads where anyone just posts up to 4 pics of their work as a kind of show and tell gesture.

3. Do giveaways and art raffles at certain milestones like 50,100,150,200 or something followers, and open commissions when you have a few hundred followers. These two are probably the most optimal way.

4. Draw big artists' OC's. Some companies like wayforward will also retweet your fanart so do your research on who interacts with their fans in general.

And basically just follow a lot of artists, share and like their work and leave a nice comment now and then. These are probably the 4 main ways I've seen from my time using twitter. hope it helps

Appeal is hard thing to specify. What doesn't appeal to others might appeal to certain people.
Although, what you lack is purpose, theme in your works and characterization, visual value and of course, mileage.
Most of your works are wonky and seem unfinished. They're very hard to decipher for your average guy.
Why are you streaming? I doubt people are interested in how you do your work at your current skill level.
Are you going for realism or pure stylization?
Are you working on your own project or do you want to make easy money with commissions?
Your work is bland and stiff. If you want to appeal with your skill, draw what is in high demand.
Why should i, as the average consumer, care about your work? Because you're an artist and you think your work should be rewarded because you've spent hours on a painting?
Not how it works.
If you want big numbers, bow to the demand.
If you want to keep doing what you do, get better, be more creative and bring new stuff to the table that is the hypersaturated sci-fi and fantasy art scene and pray to god that somebody will like your stuff.
You're still in the delusional phase. Which every artist goes through but the sooner you get out, the better it is in the long term.
Clean up your act and social media. Set your goals and make a plan. Think on how and where to market yourself. Never stop improving. And keep in mind; It's always your fault if you're failing.

Don't focus too much on raking in numbers; that will only depress you. Post your work and close all social media.

Yeah, it can be frustrating too. It's good when you have bigger audience to get more out of your art. Medium and bigger artist do it but for small it can be too much hassle to promote and control every aspect of it for small gains.

I guess certain style and feeling comes along with enough smart work. I found Swatches streams to be somehow good source of information even when there some amateur works send there and not much to discuss.

You blew up overnight with that viral painting. Most of the people following you now are meme-chasing monkeys who just scroll the feed when they're bored and don't even remember who you are. They make the number bigger, but you'll be better off if you just consider them a one-time ego boost and not an actual milestone. I can't give advice on how to increase your followers because I have no idea and I think social media is retarded and doesn't reward art based on merit, but the main problem I see with you is that you just don't draw. You barely have any new things compared to months ago. You made new accounts and did a lot of networking, tags etc. and that earned you some followers but the drawings were always the same. It's possible that this might be bad advice from a popularity perspective and you're better off advertising the same 10 drawings over and over instead of doing 100 more drawings, but I'm not sure if you will grow much as an artist this way.

I wonder about those statistics though, how does it make sense that on instagram there would be a direct increase in engagement when using more hashtags, while on twitter posts with 1 or 2 hashtags show 21% more engagement than posts with 3+ according to that site?
