Honest question, what motivated this purchase in the first place? Do you feel he's a genuinely good teacher with techniques not available from other sources, or because you've had initial success with his other videos and like the idea of an abbreviated education?

Imagine paying to watch Proko cringe fest.

I havent bought them but the proko courses are pretty good minus the jokes, not sure if anythings worth $250 but of all the anatomy courses i've taken it's by far the most thorough and helpful.

It goes into way too much detail and is too dragged out and padded with bullshit and cringe jokes so that he can sell you a 1000 hour course.

you could get this in free course too
paid course only adds stuff like drawing really, really fat people or muscles that you will see in 1 reference out of 1000, doesn't even worth the drive space it takes

His anatomy teaching is too thorough and unnecessary. You do not need to learn about the muscles in-between the bicep and tricep, an artist only needs to be aware of the key muscle groups that are most prominent. Sycra does a much better job with this.

You better study real anatomy then simplify it howerver you want.

So many artists these days have no fucking clue how do the legs attach to the torso, what the pelvis is supposed to look like and they have no concept of obliques, literally never heard about the sides muscules, and that makes their character a fucking round barrel with abdomen smoothly transitioning into the back.

Fuckload of such artists on Pixiv, here, and even some printed doujins, artsts learning mistakes from other artists, I blame 5 minute guides and shit like this.

I can agree, as a artist learning my self I strive for the torso anatomy

His jokes aren’t even that bad or obnoxious, you stinky doodoo poopedpants retards. And many times, remembering one of his dumb jokes actually helps me remember the concept he’s joking about, which is the whole reason he does them in the first place. Of all the anatomy instrucion I’ve watched and read, Proko is probably the most well-balanced between being concise, informative, and accessible.

There is a reason to know more than just basic anatomy, especially if you are creating from imagination.

If you know your muscle groups, you know how and where to exaggerate where you want. You also know how to invent muscles that don't exist if you want.

Yes, knowing simplified anatomy goes a long way, but there are many great applications of knowing your anatomy in more detail. And honestly, it won't take forever. It's like anything. It takes time.

>Honest question, what motivated this purchase in the first place?
I bought it when he just started the Anatomy course because it was a lot cheaper then and all the other anatomy courses out there sucked ass and equated to "this is how it looks from this angle!" but gave me no knowledge of how to do it from all angles or any understanding of how they changed based on pose/body type.
>genuinely good teacher
yep, take out the skits and actually pay attention you find out he knows what he is talking about.
>techniques not available from other sources
No he basically ripped stuff from other sources and condensed them but his presentation and examples/critiques are really helpful.

>>4772271
>>4772280
>too much detail
fucking retard. watch it once then rewatch it when you need a refresher for a piece of work, you are not expected to memorize every single bump on the leg.

>>4772327
>anatomy teaching is too thorough and unnecessary.
It is called an Anatomy Course for a reason you brainlet, if you want him teaching simplified muscle groups then watch his Figure Drawing Course instead.
>Sycra
At least you didn't mention Ethan Becker.
Too many of the "just simply it" people are basically teaching "draw the rest of the fucking owl" when the person watching has no idea about the real forms of the muscles.
