You're trying to draw a head, but to draw a head you have to draw and follow the construction lines, BUT (here's where a lot of people get stuck) you're not drawing them correctly. They're all wonky, so the end results are terribly wonky.

Here's a good news: there's a very easy way to keep your construction lines consistent and properly placed, and in consequence, to unwonk your drawings. You just have to correct your boxes and spheres until they're consistently accurate.

Don't twist this into me recommending drawing pages and pages of drawabox exercises. It's not about the mileage, it's about being able to draw a box that looks okay. You don't have to do it right in permanent ink without any guidelines, you just have to try to draw it correctly and then, when you're done, check if it's right and if not, fix it. That's enough.

Most of your boxes (portraits, studies, etc) are poop wonk and it's because either/or:
a) you can't see it
b) you don't give enough of a heck to fixem because it's tedious and sloooow and fuck drawing.

These two things affect everything. You have to get used to fixing the boxes you've drawn, otherwise you won't have the eye(!!!!) or patience and skill to fix the heads you've drawn.

If you can draw a wonky thing and then correct it (it doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be okay), then you can learn how to draw. That's super easy, no worries. You can draw a box, now draw a box from life. After that move on to more complicated objects, anything that you can see around you. Now you can also draw a lot of objects at the same time, like actually a whole room.

As soon as you can draw your vacuum cleaner well, you can grab any constructive anatomy resource you prefer and finally understand it. A human head is very complex, but many artists have developed their own low-poly interpretations of it. But to make sense of them, you first needed to upgrade your brains' 3D engine by scanning those bottles, chairs and anime figurines into your sketchbook.
Draw still lives. It's so easy and good for you.

My work takes maybe like 10 hours a day, commute included, but I can draw during the day as it's almost encouraged being a tech job, but that's most of the trad part as I'm not allowed to bring in my own devices

I sleep maybe 7 hours a day

groceries/gym take maybe 1 hour off my day on average

I don't follow my eating/hygiene hours as those take as long as they need to take, I rarely cook myself though.

the average of 5 hours also includes weekends, Saturday is purely for drawing with a side of shitposting, on Sundays I allow myself some slack if I don't feel like drawing but I usually get around four hours or so.

it was gradual at first, but it kind of took off early this year after I stumbled upon a video where some established concept artist guy said that it took him three years to push through it without any prior experience and it clicked that I too have done that before and I can do it again, just in a different field that I actually enjoy doing, I'm pretty sure half of /g/ would kill someone for the job I have right now

some days I'm not sure, but yeah overall, even things that I struggled with even a month ago do feel a bit easier, I force myself to go through my older stuff every once in a while

You can probably tell I was some anon whining about my job before itt, but because I hate my job and have no other outlets art has become some “end all be all” for me. I’m nervous because there’s only 75 spaces available for the free ride (have to apply).I’ve been burnt out as fuck at this job for the past couple months and vocal to some of my coworkers about quitting too.
