I was gonna say that's a really rough Bisley cover but then I started to look at the details. Prime early 90's Bisley is unmatched.

It's a weeb board. But to be fair, most capeshit nowadays is, well, shit. But there are great American comics if one knows where to look (see attached), and it is still the greatest comic tradition.

Also/in before, I know some on that chart are Euros, and some are written by Euros (Alan Moore), but most are American, and there is some crossover between Euros and Americans.

We tend to prefer material that is foreign to us and demonize what is popular in our environment. We praise Russian and Japanese city architecture and make fun of american Burger punk. J-Rock and German metal is in, American rap and pop is out. We demonize it, especially when something like U.S. comics have various nuances in art and storytelling that aren't posted on your nerd websites and youtube vloggers. Nobody's who's popular is gonna retweet/blog the storytelling elements in Ryan O'Malley's Non Scott pilgrim books, or the sequences in Jill Thompson's Beasts of Burden, or the cynical funhouse mirror designs of Evan Dorkin's "Eltingville". It's all "Spider-Man gave birth to himself" "Another reboot/retooling of Superman" "Batman is now gay for Wolverine" "A new superhero who's very relevant to the current political events" It blinds the /ic/ enthusiast to the point that comics, even cape comics, that actually take real risks for the sake of storytellng get dismissed because of my previous examples
really sad

You have to consider people's taste in art before throwing in any example. In your pic neither the left nor the right appeal to me stilistically at all, so I'll probably still stuck to my euro and jap artists like Inoue, Terada, Murata, Druillet, Pratt, Bisley and Moebius.

Blame having endless reboots and tie in just to get into a series making the medium inaccessible to most, and western colleges for spending the better part of 30 years shitting on the anime style only to get BTFO and left in the dust when comics finally fell out of favor. You Comicfags did it to youselves and frankly noone feels sorry for you.

Anime is ugly, they should have stuck with 80's cartoon style like Jem, he-man, thundercat's etc and also frazetta type fantasy.

To each their own. I like art on both the east and the west, it's just that my examples were more on a brouder sense. My pic literally applies to the false judgement and bad rep comics can get. Not just the art.
I mean >>4747779 and >>4747786
proves my point 100% by saying a variation of my strawman doodle
However, I do feel like if everyone dug deeper into non big 2(Dc/Marvel) comics, or even you'll find at least 1 comic that fits your art taste.

Funny that you mention 80s art consitering whatever shit they choose to remake today has a very high chance of either getting a anime ripoff artstyle or calart cartoons on Netflix. Sorry but the people have spoken and western comicshit won't live to see another decade.

Yeah, people's taste devolved. Cool looking manga doesn't get an english translation or even fansubs but garbage do. What a shame.
