oh, he was talking about the discord, which is an autistic shitshow. The site is basically you submit your art and there's an inbuilt non anonymous comment feature. Challenges work as they do, just you can't join challenges after they've started even if you could still easily fulfill the challenge.

On the official website? Challenges just give you something to collect and brag about but otherwise do absolutely nothing (badges), and maybe help you with ideas of what to be drawing.

Only socialization aspects are an optional comment section on each of your submitted works, which even if you always leave it open the chances of someone actually commenting are infamously low. And sometimes there are challenges that have you be part of a team, which you have to opt-in to and honestly if you told the challenge creator you want to be by yourself they'll probably allow it.

So basically you can be on the site and never bother with either of those things if you really felt like it.

Comments are also usually by the same three people left on the usual same three people's works regardless of the actually quality of said art. There are so many good drawings that are left commentless while the typical artwork that is praised are at the level as some of the beginners on the /beg board, but because said people have ties to each other, they treat the art as gospel. It sucks because they are legit great artist on the site that never get the critique nor praise rightfully warranted.

To make the recording as straightforward as possible we've been using software that simultaneously record each participant on a separate track.
Lafayette is confined to using his laptop built in microphone so that's what we've got to work with. But don't worry, Seben has been doing his best to make the audio output be as good as possible.
But thanks for the feedback anon. I'll make a not to check if the local recording might be of any better quality. As we each do a local recording simultaneously as a backup in case any problems arise (we use OBS for this)

I'm not really familiar with las at all. Podcast was a community idea. The NSFW channel was forged out of people's complaints.
Houses is also a community game that people often ask for (which doesn't exist in the server nor the site as of now)

You see there is a difference between the two. Jerry was picked on but in a nice, warm way and everyone participated in it. In contrast, banana isn't picked on; few tell him to pull himself up by the bootstraps and it's seen as bullying. Then you have him bullying himself not related to art but his own personal, mental health, all while using known users as a shield to avoid criticism and attract an echo chamber around him. Jerry, on the other hand, kept going and did not bring his IRL problems to the attention of the community. He was a bully victim but in a lighthearted way.

It eventually did get to him and then he left. I honestly don't think he cared much about the 4chan members picking on his drawings but that he came to the realization that art isn't for him and that he does not have an aptitude for it. Perhaps he hopefully gravitated in another creative pursuit. The important thing is he came to grips that he shouldn't waste his life on something he has no affinity for.

As for banana, well, he embeds his mental tendencies in his "art" for what most of us call abstraction. Maybe he found his calling to be an abstract painter. Or maybe he doesn't really want to be an artist and finds these bi-monthly suicidal slash mental breakdowns to be art it of itself. Maybe he should be a performing artist instead.

That was my intention before regs closed but I have lost all desire in rejoining after dragging it on for 6 months.
