Depends on the niche you want. For example Ben McSweeny is an illustrator for books. He also works with RPGs a lot. And B&W ink illustrations are very much okay in this case especially if the style is decent.

You also should have no problems with doing some comics like this. On the other hand porn will be a problem. It rarely goes good with pure inks. And even non-porn comissions are harder to come by unless your skill level is really high.

Here. If you apply an inverted (switching black and white) version of your picture to it as a mask on your image, you can recover that mistake. Maybe a few tweaks needed but that's very usable and super quick to do

Her structure I'd say is a bigger issue, it seems you got a real life reference and put an anime head on afterwards. When you do that you have to account for how big you want the head. And when you do get comfortable with your construction you really need to focus on developing the idea of contouring. Then you can wrap landmarks on a sphere and then place your faces on it. Your eyes are sphere, your nose is a pyramid, and your mouth has depth inwards AND outwards. Try breaking down references to geometric shapes first (rectangular prisms for torso to head) or the triangle method I heard from this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCHhNJWzUnc&t=242s

Dude instead of shading the skin with shades of black try picking the color of the skin going slightly down the color wheel. (Say the skin is orangish go slightly towards the red) and use more darker redish tones it gives life to the skin.

Also try going incremental with the shading dont go right for the darkest shades for shadows. Wherever the light isn’t completely is where you do your darkest tones everywhere else use warmer darks.

There is no singular test you can apply. It's one of those things that is a case by case thing. If you have some kind of mental/cognitive thing that prevents you from making this distinction, you could always ask someone. Most people are pretty good about telling the difference between tasteful nudity and porn.

But generally I would say, don't show arousal. Don't show naked people in places where sex happens, e.g. beds.
Some specific examples: A naked woman/man standing at a window and looking out would be tasteful. The implication is you are their lover and you are observing them in the morning. A woman putting on makeup in the bathroom while naked would be less tasteful, cause it has a "peeping" connotation.

Not a fan of how the lower eyelids are turned upwards. That amplifies the cross-eyed look that would otherwise translate to just looking at the camera.
The skin is color is coming along great (inb4 polfag jokes) and the saturation is just right.
The nose and lips look good, and the coloring is off to a great start.

People that draw/need cartoon porn to get off are not normal, especially if its a woman. These people are usually outcasts that don't really get proper intimacy from other human beings, so as they keep frying their brain with more and more stuff, they get deeper and deeper into weirder shit. Also, alot of these people are desperate for social contact, so they form "communities" where they "interact" with each other, creating a stronger feed back loop of hunger for content and social isolation.

It’s one of the more obnoxious ways people phrase things around here. Mostly it’s because they can tell something is off but lack the ability to articulate how. What he meant to say was that the eyes seem a little too forward on the head (like you drew in the hair and then figured “the face needs to fall into this space left over” rather than considering if the hair would be falling over parts of it) and the lips/mouth are at the completely wrong angle for the head or face.

Feet that got cut by like 1/4, out of perspective and with squished fingers.
There is also some fuckery going on with her knees and thighs but I can't even say what the fuck he did except transforming them into some kind of amorphous blobs - they are too short and blobby.

The curvature of her face plane is odd as fuck, learn how the eye is an indentation in the plane which collides with the nose's bridge. It's shit, but it's nothing compared to the other fuckmess that you have going on in other parts of the drawing.
