Have you ever been strongly moved by a work of art? Maybe to tears of joy or sadness or anything else really. If so, post it ITT and relate your experience.

How would you make it more subtle without erasing story elements entirely? I think the amount of chains is a bit excessive, and the syringes are too obvious.
Hard disagree on the emotion part. The distressed look on the woman's face is what makes the whole piece, and it's already subtle enough.

In keeping with his interest in Queen Juana “la Loca,” Pradilla painted this painting of the queen´s confinement in Tordesillas Castle, where she spent the rest of her life alongside the cadaver of her husband. Juana sits besides a window in a palace room with a Gothic fireplace. Lost in thought, she gazes at the viewer without noticing her daughter´s play. A lady in waiting and a servant on the right contemplate the scene with some sadness. An open door in the background offers a view of the coffin with the body of Felipe “el Hermoso.”

Also I was moved while watching Mona Lisa. Not because the painting was so spectacular, although it might be, it felt like a lonely girl watching the audience more than the audience watching her.

Obviously was before corona.. the room was packed. Everyone took pictures, I think no one paid any attention to the artwork itself, just the fact hey WOW I was there I saw the painting.

And she seemed to be looking at everyone coming to see her, with understanding or contempt or both, maybe serenity, I couldn't tell.

A bunch of based cossacks from ukraine kicked the Turkish sultan Mehmed IV's ass in battle but in a fit of impotent rage the sultan wrote them a letter demanding they submit to his rule anyway.
The cossacks, upon receiving the letter, wrote him a mocking reply letter full of obscenities.
The scene depicts them writing the letter.

It was the first time I felt something looking at a picture, something other than aesthetic feeling. I felt weight and weightlessness, cold shivering and wonder. Fear and fascination.

Yes I'm sure people randomly decided to stop painting beautiful paintings and designing beautiful buildings at the exact same time that a certain ideology took control of parts of Europe in the 19th. Surely these two events have nothing related. It's not like there was a specifically designed philosophy that targeted beautiful art, monuments, and architecture that began at this time.

I find it about the journey and the struggle of life (and death) in a harsh world. Body language and path of direction as major factors.
In terms of composition:
- Leading line road path
- Contrast, light and shadow:
horse and sitting man vs sky
2 ladies' highlighted faces vs clothes
coffin vs blanket, dog vs snow
cloud shadow vs light colored ground
- there's also rule of thirds, but not really the main focus
I'm just a hobbyist photographer that stumbled in this board so take my opinion as a grain of salt.

Anime and manga in general are pretty painful to read/watch for this reason. Basically all the non-antagonist females are demure, chaste, and full of love and affection and tenderness. They want monogamous relationships, they want to get married, they want to have big families, they want to lovingly dote on children. Which is totally and completely opposite to femoids in real life, literally the inverse. It's like the Japs think of a woman and flip all her qualities when designing female characters.

You really don't consume a lot of the media then, or only watch/read obvious wish-fulfillment for lonely Japanese men. I don't mean this in an offending way, but most female characters aren't like that whatsoever outside of certain media like dating simulators.

You sound exactly like the male equivalent of a bitter woman who's upset that irl males are disappointing in comparison to her Korean dramas or otome anime. Real life is shit for everybody, that's what makes escapism so appealing.

I don't know what kind of crack you're smoking, but name an anime. Literally name any random anime. And I'll show you a woman who's demure, chaste, and pure. Sakura from Naruto, Pretty much any female character from Sword Art Online, just pick an anime. There's a female that is as I describe.

You're doing the same thing here too. Here:
>How backhanded and passive agressive.
When the "offending" part was me implying that you were a fucking scrub who doesn't watch/read a lot of anime/manga, not the part that you were actually insulted by.
>Sakura from Naruto
The chaste and demure Sakura. The outspoken and hot-blooded girl who literally lusted after Sasuke the moment of introduction (and later thought Sai was hot), and then got wet when her fujoshi fantasies were fulfilled.
Or do you actually mean Hinata, whose character is mainly just 'uwu Naruto is so cute and I'm so shy' past her backstory
>Pretty much any female character from Sword Art Online
Sword Art Online is a harem isekai adapted from an LN. You cannot get anymore "male wish-fulfillment" than this.

You really are no different than the women who are upset that 3dpd men aren't like her otome anime guys, because you both have a poor sense of the real world and get upset that the opposite sex isn't actually your ideal fantasies imposed by fictitious media that's sometimes designed to make you open your wallet.

P.S. If you want to know the artist's name, there's this odd phenomenon that when you look at a painting closely you can sometimes see the artist's name written on it (somewhere in the corner usually). Weird stuff.

Western women are not even on a child's level of intelligence, because children are never bored. Are they even human? All they do is consume: shiny stuff, people, entertainment...

This is why they are bored.

Armida by Cecco Bravo. One of the very few paintings in the Uffizi thats not just a portrait of some ruler, saint or the fucking Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus.

>Carlo and Ubaldo, companions of Rinaldo, are able to enter the fairytale kingdom, where they find the young man and convince him to return to his army. The abandoned Armida falls into despair and fury. She climbs to the top of the mountain, calls to her all the spirits of hell and then leaves to join the Egyptian ranks in order to get revenge

There is not enough dimension and color on earth to make visual art really work for me, maybe if I were under the influence, then it would appear in the way that touches the deep inside. Music brought me to tears of joy and sadness many times, I was mad about a piece hundreds of times. It's art par excellence. no visual art ever came close to it. Music is much more internal, it creates emotion and visual images in mind effortlessly or bring into attention the ineffable, compared to a painting to which I will rarely connect to, but still be interested in presented concepts or objects, or appreciate the style.

You're obviously autistic. If that were the case, you think people would be hanging up art in their houses? Sure, art is in the eye of the beholder, but its the connection that you make with it that gives joy.

Two reasons
>1.
During the the “Cold War”, Cultural Marxism was pumped into the minds of many young American college students in many of our institutions of learning, many of those kids, where well-off white middle class kids from post-war America (Boomers), and unfortunately they now make up a good chunk of people in positions of power in the US. Perfect example is NYC mayor Bill DeBlasio, don’t let the working class Italian name fool you. His real name is Warren Wilhelm Jr, and he used to be a member of the Marxist Quixote Center, both of his parents where accused of having communist sympathizes. Meanwhile, adoration for the Soviet system as well as for Communism and Socialism was taking root during the post-war years, creating today’s modern left, many of whom admire the Soviet Union
>2.
Today Russia is trying rebuild the old Soviet Bloc, while still trying to dismantle America and Europe. While they use their typical left-wing useful idiots, they also use right-wing useful idiots like Richard Spencer and Matt Heimbach. The Alt-Right being nothing more than just a Russian Israeli psy-op. That is why you plenty of morons on /pol/ shilling for Russia. These videos explain the current situation perfectly.
