does anyone have this????? goddamn i have been looking all day for like 12 hours, and i've been obsessed with it. Haha Christopher Hart, ngmi, whatever, but listen. It gets weird.

This guy promoted the shit out of this book back in 2014 -- did interviews over it, sent it to reviewers, shelled it on DA, ect. It was a short book of 117 pages, and he it exclusively sold on Amazon. It's on goodreads and everything. He even said he wanted to make a physical copy soon after publication.

But almost no one read it. Reason being that almost directly after its release, he very quietly and with no explanation pulled it off the shelves.

The amazon link leads to an empty page with no information. I have searched every book site i could and there have been no results. And I even directly emailed CH and got a generic response that the book is simply no longer available.

There is something here he couldn't, or thought better of, sharing. And I want to know what it is. I want this book real bad, anons.

It's gonna be the same thing for Youtube and Google books. So they will enact content filters based on images and text that filter copyrighted material. It will be trivially easy to submit samples from publishers for thousands or millions of books. The IA already has OCR and keeps text files of the text of each book they upload even if it's a pdf or images.

So this means that a lot niche nerd shit is fine because old Japanese publishers either don't exist or don't care about 40 year old content. Even on youtube you still have entire anime series. Now what that does mean though is that alot of content will be taken off especially by big publishers.

Content from Kadokawa Shoten could be taken off. They're massive and they have a shit ton of material on E-hentai too. But EH is just niche enough that it doesn't get attention.

It uses a voting system even if the original uploader used the wrong category. So just click on non-h in the top and then vote for the category. After a certain amount of votes it automatically changes. Anons opinions about this figure drawing book? Felt a bit aimless with all the different ones but after researching this one it seems like it's an easier to see and understand starting point than Bridgman, while also doing a better job of explaining things than Loomis.

After much work I have managed to download the University of Heidelberg's vintage art book collection.
This contains art books for the 15th to the 20th Century. I have removed most of the text because approx 95% of the books were not in English and I have just kept the diagrams and examples.
They convert a variety of topics like:

I decided to finally use books to gitgud. I've been procrastinating and not getting shit done for too long.

Are the Beginner Essentials, specifically the "First Books" Loomis, etc, a good idea for someone that's already been drawing for a few years and is probably "intermediate"? Are there any fundamentals in there useful past beginner?
I was thinking of jumping straight into Color and Light since I've been holding off for years and enjoy painting. Was thinking I could brush the rust off the fundies along the way.

This is a "draw in x minutes" challenge I did here years back, for an idea of my level.

Fundies are vital and you should always be practicing them even just as warm-ups, because everything else is built off of them.

If a book sounds interesting to you give it a try and if you don't think you're taking away anything from it you can always just drop it, especially if you're getting it here because it's free. If Color and Light interests you in particular I think you can go straight to it though, Gurney is a great teacher and even as a newbie I felt like I understood it well.

But I agree, she is hot. She uses her ballet dancer techniques on the ways of Gesture Drawing in the book. I just wish the book had more examples of said drawings.

For example: you have Hampton's book which is "here's how you'd draw the head" with all kinds of examples filled to the brim as he explains over and over the same steps how to draw it.

Meanwhile her book is very straight to the point with showing off only 1 example per exercise with the exact same model building up to drawing a 5 minute gesture. This sucks because she doesn't really explain in her own words what she feels is correct, making it more difficult to adapt to her style. Her tutorials come off as those "How to draw" $2 books you find at a local Barnes and Nobles. And to make matters worse, there's very little of her work within 200 pages, it's kinda shocking how blank some of the pages feel.
Sorry for the rant, I was just so disappointed because I really like her style. But I learned how to adapt her style more from Vilppu or even Proko's free youtube videos than her very own book.
