This is actually more in line with my personal thoughts. I still haven't decided how I want to handle anonymous posting, though. A few ideas:
1. Anonymity is anywhere, using names is opt-in.
2. Anonymity is anywhere, but posting anonymously is restricted by level (or vice versa).
3. Anonymity is restricted to particular threads (the thread creator can opt in or out).
4. Anonymity is restricted to particular boards/tags/subforums.
5. Some combination of these.
6. No anonymity.

IMO anonymity is a good idea in general, because people can't judge you for what you say or judge what you say based on you. On the other hand, names are good for accountability and so that you understand someone's background when they give feedback. A lot of the problems with anonymity on 4chan has more to do with drive-by fuckheads, ban evaders, and distant jannies than actual inherent problems with anonymity itself, and I think a lot of these issues will be solved by restricting the site to DAD users and having the ability to moderate ourselves.
True anonymity is probably impossible because of how there are relatively few people, but you can get plausible deniability at least.
Also, caveat: moderators won't be able to see who you are normally, but when your post gets removed, they'll see who you are (so that someone who is persistently shitty and gets their posts removed constantly can be muted).

Anyway, this is still one of the topics I'm least sure of, so your thoughts are welcome.
