I’m normally not one for modern art, but I’ve always loved this piece. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it since the artist used wooden blocks to give it depth. It’s like a painting merged with a sculpture. .

Has to be this one, "The Bath" by Gerome. I've seen it in person a bunch of times, it's a jewel of a painting in person, no photo does it justice. It's in SF at the Legion of Honor.
Second runner up is "Spring", by Alma Tedema. It hangs at the Getty in LA. It's a mindblowing painting in person.
