Cintiqs aren't meant for you, they're for design studios to buy by the hundreds and for rich douchbags to flaunt as a status symbol.

Consider you're mister big business man, and you need to decide what equipment to buy for your artists. You pay each one of these guys like 50k/year plus benefits, so you want to get as much work out of them as possible.

• Wacom has the best tech support in the industry
• Wacom has a history of excellent driver support
• Wacom has good warranties
• Wacom products have excellent QC and have been known to last for a decade of constant use.

Now, if this combination of durability, ease of troubleshooting, quality of life features, and fuckhuge size means your artists produce even 5% more art that year, you've already made a profit on your purchase from Wacom.

If they didn't hold an uncontested monopoly on digitizers for years, you wouldn't even consider getting one a reasonable goal, in the same way you wouldn't look twice at Apple's overpriced cheesegrater. It's only because they've gotten to set the prices for decades that you think of chinese tablets as "cheap" rather than Wacom tablets as "enterprise"

Is that why when I sent in support tickets about my Wacom intuos pro medium's loose USB port on delivery causing disconnects (under warranty at the time) they ignored me for two months of sending in support tickets thinking they hadn't gotten them? Oh and when I talked to them they literally told me "That's not an issue we know about" and told me I somehow must have broken my tablet before I even got my hands on it? The call center employee told me "don't be so rough with your tablet we don't cover damage from customers"

All because they didn't solder their damn USB ports in properly. First time plugging it in and the port slid inside the plastic housing at an angle making it hard to keep a connection. I tried using wireless but it kept disconnecting and lagging brush strokes, they just ignore me about that one too.

Yeah customer support of the year right there man, such great QC, wow such drivers they sure do work, I really got what I paid for there.

I'm on my second Intous pro. First one failed after two years. It just stopped working and I got device malfunction bs when I plugged it in. Replaced usb plug, still fucked. One year later my pro pen 2 took a dump. Would skip when drawing solid lines new pen fixed the issue. If this one dies I don't know if I can justify a third purchase at Wacom's retarded price, and don't even get me started on the aggravating drivers.
