this thread is cancer a lot of the time, but at least it's less cancer than the rest of /ic/.
there's a ton of furries, but I'm also low-key a furry, so I see it as a plus.
most anonymous posts are by dicks, but dads seem to be pretty nice elsewhere. I wonder if it's the same people?
most of the people with large streaks seem pretty distant, probably because they're too busy drawing to post.
my general impression of most dads is that I like them, but I dont know most of them as *individuals* yet.

there's a lot more to your work than what's obvious in the thumbnails! I'm interested in what direction you're going. it looks like you like furries and fantasy settings, with a healthy dose of coom. it's hard to make any judgement on your work based on your thumbnails, because it looks like you're focused on character building and perhaps worldbuilding more than independent drawings, like a lot of other dads appear to be. if I had to guess I'd say you probably want to draw webcomics? (although you don't appear to have studied comics per se) my favorite of your submissions is your tier tourney submission, though there's plenty of other pretty good stuff in there too. honestly, I should've just cut both of their entries from my post entirely instead of just censoring them. constructive criticism is one thing, but just being mean is another. it's not even like I don't have anything nice to say. it would have been better to cover someone I knew a bit less than to cover someone in a purely negative way like I did.

here's a somewhat more positive take:

the1banana: chronically underestimates himself and certainly doesn't deserve the bullying he gets. he's done good work both as the admin as an artist. it looks like his drawabox/perspective/etc practice is paying off. my main concern is that it looks like he's focusing a too much on a few specific skills while neglecting others, so his finished pieces don't live up to his studies.

worldbuilding for its own sake is a perfectly good hobby, if that's what you want out of it.
on the other hand, you could try to run a D&D or other /tg/ in your world, and try to incorporate art by drawing characters, places, or maps.
you could also try to write stories in it, letting your characters bounce off each other and explore the world and seeing what happens (and then editing it into a more cohesive narrative).
you could try literature, like Tolkien, but considering we're in /las/, I bet you prefer visual storytelling, which is why I predicted you wanted to do webcomics. they're nice for presenting the sort of for-the-art stories that usually come out of worldbuilding, because they're self-published and low-pressure, but can easily be monetized if you start to build a following.

If you don't want to do a full comic you can split it up any way you want. You could do 5 2 page comics, a 3 page and a 7 page comic, all that matters is that they're comic pages

I notice this as well and I agree.
In addition to drawing I also make music and do game dev myself.
I remember hearing once that music, just instrumental music, is interpreted by the brain in the same way as language.
And I feel like I notice that when I listen to music. In some way the instruments have the feeling of being voices that speak and converse.
This is especially noticeable to me lately as I'm trying to learn a second language.
As I listen to the language being spoken and try to parse the words, I find that background music can be distracting as my mind seems attracted to parse the music in a very similar way.

Nice stuff. I'm /beg/ so take this advice with a mountain of salt.
It looks like you're conscious of volume and you're using your lines effectively (no chicken scratch/repeated lines) which are both very good things.
Your proportions, however, are out of wack. I think you need to learn to observe space carefully, and apply that through anatomy.
Anatomy is obviously lacking: knowledge of the body's shape would make your volumes better formed (gestures generally shouldn't be constructed like the Pillsbury dough boy), and resolve the issues you have with the clavicle area, weird arm muscles, etc. It would also inform a sense of the body's proportions–ex: how large is the space between the ribcage and pelvis?–and that kind of knowledge always helps you observe more correctly.
Prescription from a /beg/: Draw more, check out Hampton and experiment with figure drawing approaches (and the length of drawings) so you really understand why you're using the tools you're using.
