Ego is attached to art. In real life critiques I've noticed how quickly people get angry or defensive about their art (myself included), and how quickly some will attack other artists.

Add anonymity here and that's taken to the next level. Also add that it's a hyper-competitive space, with few making really good money (which is why successful NSFW artists are shit on so much here).

In short, it's easier to attack others than to just work on your own shit.

Every draw thread I've been in for the past 3 days has had a lot of artists giving useful critiques, and at the most it will be 2 anons ranting back and forth about nothing. If it's not a draw thread it likely isn't worth your time except for the occasional rant thread that serves as a good laugh and decent discussion till the thread hits like 30 posts.
