So from what I understand seeing how this improved it, I'm trying to play it too save with drawing shapes and end up making everything formless with straight lines for arms and the collar bones, and for the faces I'm never too sure, but I should've tried to make the mouth placed as an anime would typically do like how you did. I know the shoulders to arms should have that bump but I always end up not drawing it because I worry about it looking wrong at the angle I suppose

Practice. Draw with all your heart and learn from your mistakes. There are guides out there that you can try resoursing, but the books and guides are just a resourse. A means to an end. You don't have to spend six hours on drawing fruit if all you want are to draw big tittie lolis. Am determined to get better with hair. As it stands anything Long and flowey or just generally more complex I can't seem to wrap my mind around. What're some resources you guys found that helped make things click?

My process is mostly blocking out things and forms with big brushes and steadily refining shit until it looks right, which I can't seem to figure out how to do when it comes to hair.

Not sure what to do.

you have none of the understanding of form, colors, or line weight of the original, if thats what you mean by "soul"

you need to construct and actually ask yourself what the original artist was thinking when he was drawing
there are some parts like the hair where its entirely obvious you just threw down lines for the outer contour without considering the actual form.

there are other things to crit too, but you'll learn more from trying to identify them yourself

so did dynamic sketching and trying to figure out how Krenz handles drapery

always break things down into simple shapes in perspective and draw cross contour lines

pic rel. example of how understanding of the 3D form of an object (e.x. a flower) can be applied to construction from imagination for something else (a dress)

Your ref sketch looks pretty good. Even though right is only 5 minutes you could stand to make it less flat. It helps to spend more time on construction even for quicker sketches.

You can tell because the rest of the drawing is an absolute train wreck because you could not find another tutorial to help you with drawing a figure. Stop trying to find tutorials and start making real life observations from the figure, reference off a real model in a similar pose and use your head.
