The layout is very confusing. It's hard to connect the actions from the previous panel to the next panel.
Revise each panel to be clear about what is happening.
Look at the top left panel. The reptile dude looks like he is about to swing with his right fist, but in the top right panel, he swings with his left.

Well, I mean, sure, by literal definition.
Shadows are simply the absence of light. If something is completely hidden in shadow (100% absence of light), you cannot discern any texture, but beyond that, the surface on which a shadow is projected will have texture, and that texture would be more visible depending on how little/much light it's exposed to, right?

If you're teaching kids/teenagers, that level is fine.
I taught teenagers (some of them included special ed with learning disabilities) for a summer once.
It taught me I don't want really want to be a teacher t b h. Mainly just because I don't have the patience for teens who don't want to be there. I liked the special ed kids though.
Don't miss the chance imo, you'll learn a lot about yourself in a short time. I also made the mistake of going too try hard on them, keep it simple if you're doing lessons. The ones that want to learn will learn.

I try to compare to paintings to know what I'm doing wrong. I took a part of this painting course. For starters don't shade with black, you can see he shades with dark browns. Your contrast is also huge, like the shadows on your bottle and pineapple looks cell shaded as opposed to well rounded. Your edges are kind of outlined in white, its not very smooth so the fruits look 2D. He says in painting you should pay attention to lost and found edges, but maybe in your case just tidying up and blending a little more. And also repeated colors. The table cloth is the only blue in this photo, and the bg is a strange dirty yellow.

As you can see the pineapple doesn't quite reach as dark as the wine bottle does in the shadows, and it doesnt look very round. If the values work in black and white, the painting will work as a whole. You can apply this to drawings in photoshop too.

Thanks for providing the ref photo and reading my feedback. You can see right away that the pineapple and apple don't reach the full range of values. Even if they're lighter colors, the shadows should still make a form. You are welcome to make your paintings anyway you like as long as in the end the values and color look good. Just don't forsake value for color or use impressionist as a style excuse! Even the impressionists still paid attention to value because that's what makes things look 3D. Their colors are a really cool and appealing optical illusion to make it look more vibrant (like juxtaposing lavender and yellow to look gray so it looks like its shimmering) u can do the black and white trick on their paintings to see that value is preserved.

Another thing you can do to check your work is pump up the saturation. That's how you can tell if you are getting the color temperature relationships right, and if the colors you pick are in generally the right family. It looks like the tablecloth is meant to be a more orange color but you might have interpreted it as a blue color

Idk this is a really good painting actually (despite the it looks like shit I initially said) like don't get discouraged it's good enough to apply anyway. The only advice I used to get was to the good old "squint" and see if it looks right. When I used to watch fzd's videos he would make a gray layer on top as color and then check the values, and if it was too dark or light he would use a black multiply brush or a white dodge brush carefully to adjust the values. My values are dogshit I think that's what's holding me back and when I looked at my favorite paintings that's what I realized, that in black and white it really works out. Ig just try to remember the rules about all 5 (or 12?!) Steps of values, like if your wine bottle was mostly black 1 and 2s and your pineapple is stuck at 3, 4, and 5, they should both have it all. Or... that may be bad advice lol going back to the exposure argument that maybe not everything needs the full range of values. And the other rule about 30% 70%, you can see the painting examples I provided has a sharp white area and mostly black, while yours is evenly split.
