Using a particularly well drawn female persona (especially with bright colours, such as pink or orange, or complementaty colour in general) immediately has people associate you with something cute, inviting, and easily recognisable which is one of the main ways to gain a large following.

to the other points, if you want your persona to properly represent you, let the main topic of whatever you draw influence it in a way, that lets people who see it immediately know what kind of art to expect when further looking into you as an artist. Most basic thing is fantasy artists having an elf as a persona. That'll catch people with the same interests as you.
If you just want a big following, keep it cute and, generic and colourful

I have my cartoon represent and it pops in my gallery a lot and people like him/me.
Here how you do that in a right way unlike how zoomers do it:

1) by being sincere
2) by not adding IRONIC SARCASTIC xD bullshit to it
3) by not adding cringly zoomer/tumblr/reddit stuff to it but its a part of a part 2) i guess.

Just draw a sincere representation of you without trying to be cool (and looking lame) like OP's picture
