No no, I am. Posting this here was like a social experiment. You all didn't need to know that I'm currently loving creating art everyday, but I really wanted to see the response I would get. They're pretty predictable for the most part, but I am glad there has been some other positivity in the thread as well. Learning to have fun learning is quite lovely

The problem with voices is that they distract. if you are actually understanding what people in a podcast are saying you probably are not focusing on drawing enough.

Maybe it's different for you, but I need to focus on the activity.The background ambience music is more to give the brain something to enjoy, it suppresses thoughts and tinnitus. Can also be a trigger for getting into the zone if you use the same soundtracks for work/study only.

Good to have a positive thread once in awhile. I'm happy for everyone here, hope they all continue to improve and revel in the pride of achievement.

Just this week I finished something, looked at it, and realized I was actually gonna make it. Made being the artist I've always wanted to be feel achievable. Good shit, my man.

I think I spent a lot more time drawing tonight than I have any previous day in my life. Learning to draw is the one and only thing I ever really wanted to do but gave up on, and I realized a couple weeks ago that it has been gnawing at me ever since. I did my best to bury my passion for drawing all those years ago, but it's still there. My recent attempt at learning to draw began as little more than a whim, but I've started taking it seriously.

Looking through my sketchbook now, I don't feel my usual disgust and disdain towards my own work. It's still as ugly as ever, and I'm not sure I learned anything important from making it, but I don't hate it. It's as though my newfound commitment has allowed me to make peace with it somehow.
