I also thought I could've copied it and then forget about it but it's impossible. Those chicken scratches are just how I always draw and I don't usually use references. If I had just used it as reference it wouldn't look so identical and if I tried to copy it exactly it wouldn't look so different on the little details. Also my drawing was made before he ever posted his, I even checked sankaku, gelbooru, etc. to make sure and the oldest one made by him was posted on January 14. My file was created on January 8.

Anon I think that's because the white background of the original Japanese work is making the lines brighter since they overlayed the original Japanese work on top of theirs using a transparent normal layer blending instead of using a multiply layer blending and full opacity and overlaying their copy on the original Japanese work which would allow the colors on their work to be kept intact given they are using pure #000000 black on pure #FFFFFF white but not everyone is knowledgeable about blending modes.

The japanese artist clearly has a way better grasp of anatomy showing through, even despite the fact that OP traced from him - seen in the should, elbow and knee joints prominently. When you draw you're essentially trying to translate concepts like weight, stress, flow, motion etc... into line.
Even if you're not making these decisions consciously, it's effecting your drawing.

If you're not consciously making those decisions your trace is going to look stiff as none of the lines have any intention in them.
Also the lines won't flow into each other because they're drawn as separate elements.

Same thing happens when you go over your own sketch to try and make a clean line art or "inked" version.
If you're not consciously expressing your lines there's good chances it's going to come out stiff or awkward looking.
