Is there a good program out there for drawing vector art? I used to use Flash, but Adobe doesn't sell it anymore. I've decided that Affinity is too complicated to get a productive workflow going.

I don't want to use bitmap because I make lots of tweaks and changes after I'm "done", and bitmaps slowly go out of focus if you do that.

Flash seems to be unique in how the tools work. It's vector, but you don't need to get hung up on how the vectors work. You can just click on the lines and move them around as you need them.

It's a bit like molding clay. Regrettably, there is nothing else like it.

I specifically don't want to give money to Adobe because I find their business practices unethical. And I did try Illustrator at a friend's house - it does not allow editing lines the way I show it in the video. Apple produced great products when they were "beleaguered", but now that they are ultra rich, they are totally taking advantage of their users, much like Microsoft used to. Isn't capitalism great?

So then Macs were always 64 bit? Because there was never a "32 bit" version of any MacOS. I know the PPC G5 was 64 bit, but I thought the other PowerPC chips were 32 bit.

There aren't. MacOS supported older 32-bit code for compatibility, and then ended that two years ago, because if devs can't update their code by that time, fuck 'em. Apple hasn't sold a 32 bit processor since the PowerPC. MacOS has been 64 bit since 2011. G5 was not 64 bit, like modern processors are. It's a completely different architecture that Apple abandoned because IBM couldn't scale it they way they claimed they'd be able to. OP I use Affinity Designer and I'm happy with it. It lets you combine vector and raster art. The interface is much better compared to Adobe Illustrator, and you only pay for it once (unlike for Adobe). Flash or CC Animate is not an illustration tool, it's for animation. The tools for drawing and editing shapes are very limited.

Affinity Designer has a lot of effects and things that I like. But the fundamentals of how you draw are superior in Flash. Designer often needs dozens of layers to do things that work fine in one layer in Flash.

So my first impressions: It seems quite a bit slower then Affinity Designer. It's complex, and hard to tell which tools are for bitmap and which are for vectors. I'll be working with the tutorial for a while, it seems.
