All commodities will reflect the value of the dollar, when the value of the dollar goes down the goods will go up so if everybody magically got $1,000 in Neetbux the next day your Tendies would be worth $1,000 plus one plus tax. Buy Bitcoin dumbass.

That's a limited form of circular reasoning..."only those that buy in get". There are always young people starting off and elderly people dying.

Let's start 'in the first place' like the Roman rhetoricians would do... we all have an inherent need to live, but Capitalism begins with certain pre-assumptions among fairly diverse populations... for example it assumes that we all have the same Capitalistic spirit while doing nothing to really compel this drive, outside of extensive marketing most people lead dreary lives living paycheck-to-paycheck with no time for themselves or money for vacations. Ubi could boost Capitalistic drive in young people making the whole system and environment healthier.

Of course you can make the slippery slope argument... or maybe the carrot-and-stick argument that social credit would quickly become a tool for shifting political alignment. I'm not sure how that is dealt with in Europe, they must not allow politicians to meddle with VAT as long as it remains relative to the purchasing power.

See Psycho-Pass for one example of a dystopian social credit society

Remember when your petrodollar was being printed out the ass back in 2009? Remember the bail outs and "toxic assets" that were all over the market? The monetary system is a joke and so are you, the fundamentals behind Bitcoin is that it is a hedge against fiat and its whole inception was based on what occurred back in 2009 when governments could sprinkle on some fairy dust and with the wave of a wand print out more money at will.

With the Bitcoin halvening that is about to transpire there will be even more scarcity which would cause an increase in value by default but keep sucking the dicks off your Jewish bankers and play with their monopoly monies.

Ubi doesn't seem to upend Capitalism, it just makes it less punitive. You could survive on it but most people would want to extend themselves further. If you won $1200 on a small scratch ticket would you choose to live deliciously or prudently? Different people would take different paths, maybe we'd find out that it doesn't work out in the long run, but it is interesting

You would not be ably to survive on UBI, say for the sake of argument that everyone was going to receive $1,000 indefinitely; you wish to purchase a simple loaf of bread - that loaf of bread would be worth more than your $1,000 and if you think you can avoid inflation through taxation well be prepared to pay hundreds of dollars on taxes alone when you buy that loaf of bread because whenever you exchange goods or services it becomes a taxable event. In other words, the $1,000 becomes a new poverty line.

"Free" money isn't socialism. Bureaucrats choosing who to gift money to and pocketing over half of it is.

And this shit isn't really free, yeah you don't work for it but it's designed with the intent that you'll spend it. Either investing and benefiting the economy by increasing production, or just buying shit and benefiting the economy by increasing liquidity. It's not companies or the government giving you free shit, it's them sustaining their garganthuan growth by giving each other money through you.

We're at the brink of otherwise useless people being employed not as slave workers, but as captive paid consumers.

>> No.4435526

>>4435497
That's not really how it works. A credit card alone will not build a credit score - and more important an overall profile that would qualify someone for a mortgage. They look at everything - your income, your debt, your credit history, your taxes, etc. With a big enough downpayment they'll overlook some things, but just a credit card isn't much, especially if you're low income and have a lot of debt, like a student loan.
A credit card is a tool. I pay mine off every month, and have good credit, because my debt/income ratio is solid, and I pay my bills on time. Getting one at 18 and NOT maxing it out, and paying it off, and maybe carrying a small balance month to month is a good start, but there's a ways to go from that, to a mortgage.

Machines don't buy products. Have you not been paying attention the last ten years at how many companies have gone down and got bought into larger megacorps because of supressed purchasing powers? Millionaires don't buy hundreds of thousands of cars, and they sure as fuck don't buy economy offerings. They don't buy billions of pounds of food either, or hundreds of millions of pants and shirts. The people getting replaced with machines did, and companies have been feeling the heat all past decade long. Everyone who is not already merged into a megacorp wants UBI because it lets you have your cake and eat it too, lowering production costs with automation without losing a garganthuan share of your consumer base to unemployment that will not be solved any other way.

The only people against it are governments, because most propositions ask for no bureaucracy to be created for its distribution by making it universal, and jealous losers who would rather live and die through a neoholodomor than have their neighbors get "free" money.

90% of the jobs being replaced by machines will not be recovered, those people aren't qualified to learn new, more commercial skills. That implies a brutal loss of both corporate revenue and taxes as the ever growing population of unemployed and homeless don't buy shit, don't produce shit and don't pay shit. The only thing keeping them from violence and crime has been a charitable lower middle class, but they are losing their jobs next.

The value of bitcoin is almost entirely held up by high-frequency traders, which is why its value has plunged along with the rest of the stock market. When fiat liquidity is choked, all asset prices fall, including gold. Anyways, the dollar is effectively backed by the political strength of the US, and you are a retard.

The dollar is backed by nothing, and the only thing holding it in place is the belief that with a dollar you'll be able to exchange it for something else and the same applies to any other currency even Bitcoin however the difference between Bitcoin is there's only a certain number minted. Point in case the entire reason for Bitcoin's existence is to hedge against the dollar when events such as the one we're in transpire. Also what the fuck does fiat liquidity even mean, are you suggesting when you are not able to liquidate commodities into fiat that the price goes down? We're not seeing the liquidity being choked we're seeing the exact opposite with unlimited stimulus the reason we're seeing commodities drop is the mass hysteria and the full retardation of sellers feeling uncertainty and doubt but once this whole charade with the chink flu blows over you'll see both the stock and Bitcoin price go through the roof especially at these interest rates being close to zero this is unprecedented.

The value of the dollar is maintained by our secretary of state going around the world and telling everyone else to do what we say or get Gaddafied. Bitcoin is useful in Venezuela situations where the government is preventing any flow of money or people over borders. Considering that the ubiquity of the USD is the keystone of our economic imperialist system, that's not really a risk in the US anytime soon.

>fiat liquidity
When everyone dumps their assets and holds on to the cash, there is a drop in liquidity, which is why the Fed is going full-on money printer go brrr.

>you'll see both the stock and Bitcoin price go through the roof

Bitcoin has nothing to anchor its price over the long-term as investment is purely speculative-driven. It's like an art collector who buys art because they believe each individual piece will appreciate in value indefinitely. This isn't reflective of anything resembling a currency as you're just trading collectibles.

So? It works for gold, except bitcoin is better than gold in that it can actually be used as currency (and it is used, although I agree that it's overvalued), and can be converted to other cryptos. The fact that the price is in part speculative also makes it volatile which means that you can profit from it quite a lot (like everyone with more than two brain cells did).

>>4443430
This just makes zero sense at all, I don't even know what to say here. "Investing in bitcoin" is literally just buying some bitcoin, that's all it takes. Politicians don't care about people, they care about systems. And the system the right cares about is self determination, the system that lets the rich get richer, but also the system that has let some crafty poor go from rags to riches and the middle.class to migrate into better ventures when their previous employments are threatened.

The problem with american politics is that not everyone is crafy and self-reliable enough to thrive in anarchocapitalism, and not everyone is submissive and mindless enough to survive the hiveminding of bureaucratic socialism. Both systems suck for over half the population but we can only chose either or, hey refuse to cooperate and keep radicalizing further apart into their respective dystopias.

ATT: Art NEETs

If you are a citizen of the U.S. with a Social Security number, and are not claimed as a dependent on anyone else's taxes, you are entitled to the individual $1200 coronavirus relief, even if you earn $0. You MUST file a 2019 federal tax return by July 15th, 2020, or they will not find you. The deadline was extended by 3 months this year. If you are a particularly NEETy NEET, you will likely have to print and mail the return oldschool because you cannot efile without the previous year's AGI. Go to the IRS site and go to one of the FreeFile links there. I hope this can help some of you guys get out of whatever rut you're in. Do not procrastinate.

Of course; a $1200 government check is extremely appealing to people with no commitments or responsibilities because they will use it to buy consumer electronics and other dumb shit. The rest of us will have to flush it down the toilet known as landlord, as we file for unemployment. The sooner they can get us back to work, the faster our economy will stabilize; or so they hope.

It's supposed to help get people through a month or two of bills while they're sitting at home in self-quarantine. The economy also needs people to spend money. If people all just stop spending money out of fear, it multiplies the negative effect. Bottom line: people must spend money or everything breaks.

It's not "printed out of thin air." It's a tax credit, against your 2020 taxes. The people with no income will have their paid out of the general fund, by other tax payers.

>> No.4454559

>>4434575
Not even remotely accurate.

Anyone 17 and older will get $1200, if they filed taxes in 2018/19. It's a tax credit, paid out early, from your 2020 taxes. The amount goes down over 75k. Couple with kids get $1200 per adult, and $500 per kid.
Anyone claimed by a parent gets nothing.
If you didn't file in 2019/20, go file with $1 in income, because they're using tax records and direct deposit on file at the IRS for direct deposit, otherwise they'll cut a check and mail it, and that could take months.
