most lightweight painting software I've ever used despite being really good. I used to create 10kx10k images to mess around with sometimes and it wouldn't even lag. I still hold a place for it in my heart even though nowadays I use photoshop exculisvely.

I can afford software like Photoshop. Insult as much as you want but I pretty much NEED Krita because I'm already used to features that Photoshop simply doesn't have.

Just remembering the old workflow I had to use in Photoshop to get what I have in Krita with one click is giving me nightmares.

I am painting a lot of seamless textures and Krita has this very useful option called "Wrap Around Mode". It shows your texture tiled AND updates it live as you paint. Not only is it useful, but the feature is fast. No lag. Now, I don't know about the new versions of PS, but CS6 didn't have this the last time I used it. I had to use a filter trick, something like that, to check if the texture tiled properly.

The brush engine in Krita in my humble opinion is superior.

But the best of all, the tool is made and actively developed for painting and animation.

So yeah, I am never going back to PS again.

Yeah this runs on my thinkpad x60 with no problems. The infinite canvas is pretty nice too. I wouldn't use it for finished work but its a great sketch book.
