Be decent at art and post on reddit commission subs, if you really wanted money.

What do you do with all the drawings you have accumulated over the years of practicing? You obviously aren't a beginner anymore if you think you are ready for commissions. Unironically start to pyw. Not here on /ic/ but on social media that is.

Guy probably just wants a quick buck without building a following.

1.) Compile your best work into a focused, curated and stylistically consistent portfolio
2.) Brainstorm businesses that have hired illustrators in the past that could use what you've got.
3.) Reach out to them with a simple, friendly emailing to share your portfolio and state your interest in working with them in the future.
4.) Repeat indefinitely.

This is the simplified blueprint for how to build a steady stream of real world freelance work. Most people will focus on #1, but completely neglect #2, #3, and #4. If you somehow manage to get a positive response that leads to a job, do a great job and hopefully they'll turn into a repeat client. Get enough repeat clients, and the next thing you'll know, you'll have a thriving freelance illustration career.

Upwork is another solid option for getting freelance projects in the near future. Most of the projects & clients are trash, and the cut Upwork takes is unreasonable, but there can occasionally be solid opportunities to be found.

what if your best work is furry trash but not necessarily nsfw?

And what if the absolute best of your work is adult content?

That’s why I said if you really wanted money, you go to those subs. The bar there is pretty low, but a lot of people from art lounge said they tend to make up to $200-300 from commissions there.

I've made a couple of $50+ commissions in these a couple years ago, but the last 2 times I announced (in 10+ communities like that) I couldn't sell ANYTHING even for $20.

This shit is too inconsistent, not worth the headache. Fucking hell.

Build a following and people will come to you. Otherwise, join certain communities and establish a presence there.

Honestly there are easier ways to make money than drawing. Don't stress out over making money with your art. If you really just want a quick buck, try websites like fivver. Or you could play the long game and gather an audience over time and then open commissions. Both aren't well paid and you're better off directly applying to companies seeking artists, if you want to make this your dayjob. If it's a hobby, don't stress about it. Whatever you decide to do, stay positive!

Be somewhat decent, set up an email specially for this, have a PayPal, go on the commission threads on /aco/, make a commission sheet like the ones in there and post it, ignore everything else in there and their drama and just post your sheet along with email.
If you need nsfw drawings for your sheet but you don't like making any for yourself, you'll have to draw random porn on request threads if you don't mind doing it for free just to start.
It's what I did, and I've been been drawing for money for a while now, 2 years I think.

Kofi is used as a tip jar, so would make sense on why that happened. Some artist would have both a patreon and kofi.
