Draw cool shit, literally the way to gaining followers. If you're drawings are mid tier, you'll get zip. If they are shit tier, you'll get sympathy followers by the ass load I've seen. But if you're drawings are awesome, you'll gain a truckload of followers.

Also, before reporting the people who repost without credit, try and ask them to credit you. If they get a lot of likes maybe it's best to take the L to gain some eyes than to just report, you can always report later.
If you really do get 1k retweet on half your avarage posts then post your stuff on places to promote yourself like the social media threads here or any community.

Yeah I got a twitter question. I moved there after Tumblr banned lewd. Tumblr and DA both allow you to tag your work with tons of tags, but that's not really the case with Twitter. A lot of traffic I got on Tumblr and DA was months after I originally posted the works but were still getting interacted with, and I suspect it's very much because of the tags.

But I see successful and less successful artists post on twitter that get lots of interactions but don't even mention the character's name, much less tag the character. So other than people liking and retweeting your stuff, how is it supposed to keep reaching people a while after you posted it and traction has slowed?
