Contrary to how the OP says "post everything!", I don't think it's really healthy to use these threads for instant gratification on every little thing you do. They should mainly be for when you can see a weakness in a drawing but you don't know how to fix it. That's where other people can help.

right now your basic anatomy is way off. Folds of clothing will be off too, as the key to clothing is understanding how it drapes over the naked form of your subject, so until you get the nude anatomy and perspective down at least decently, clothes will look wrong and discordant in relation to the figure.

adding more darks will help a ton even without hard brushes. It seems you want a very airy, light, pretty style but as other anon said everything but the eyes feel like they are obscured by a thick fog, I can barely tell at all that there is variation in shading of the hair, clothes, and skin. You can use better contrast and more dark but maintain the overall bright and fluffy quality you seem to want, try to experiment using darker shadows without compromising your style.

It's so spray painted there's no hard contrast anywhere, it's so pillow shaded I only get the impression that where shining a light on her and it's causing it to look super uncanny. I'd recommend you push those values much harder first and then try getting the soft contour values. The pink hair also blends way too much into the skin and at a distance it's hard to tell. I'd recommend either adding more hue to it or darkening it just a little; especially because skin tends to have a lot of pinks in it as well.

My advice is to dump the airbrush for a little bit and start using a semi-hard (about 80% hardness) round brush. Next I'd select the character; create a new layer; fill that with blue; and then set the layer to multiply. Mess with the opacity from there but at least make it look like a mid-upper mid tone. After that create a layer mask on this layer and use black to erase where you want the light.

why blue? I'll try tho is there any exact things I can look up for this?

Thats something you’ll have to figure out yourself. I dont know you so I cant give you specific things that may help.
If I’m in a mood of hating my work before I even start, I just use construction to copy shit I like. That way I’m actually drawing and not getting hung up on my own work being shit, and still making some gains. So, if that works for you, do it.
I’ve noticed if I try to focus on too many things at once I get frustrated. So maybe try focusing on a specific part, like coloring, or arm muscles, and getting decent at those. Slowly expand to the torso, and neck, and head over time.
You just have to accept you are bad and will be bad for a long time. If thats too demotivating, compare old art to current art. You’ll see definite improvement.

Pretty good to start anon, try to unify your values into bigger shapes eg that large shadow down the side of her face down the neck, crunch that into one value and refine it within a smaller range later. Hair is a trap, try not to think about it as strands but large masses, you can detail later if you want. Simplify shapes

Where are her side boobs? There's no girth whatsoever, just flat. Right now she has the torso of an ugly bastard from a rape doujin, you might as well draw in some chest hair.

Eyes on the pink hair woman have a weird shape. The left eye is droopier than the right. Tear ducts do not have the fleshy pink bits in the inner corner like true eyes do.
Your range of color is excellent. Your use of the black line really hurts the piece and placement is not effective, use it more sparingly like Tell Tale art studios.

Baby's fingers are very awkward.

The environment is boring also what is going on with the chandler thing? The story is confusing behind this picture. I'm not sure if the woman in the background is laughing out of spite.

>>4413917
This is okay but a bad piece for practice imo
The upper portion of the drawing is difficult to understand and it's apparent that you think that too given how minimal effort you put into translating that into your drawing.
There are a TON of bold quick action lines and cross hatching in this piece and you are not even bothering trying to ink or shade like the original.
Your proportions are larger as well, so relate your shapes to one another better next time.

>>4413828
be more deliberate in your shading, the figure is decent but boring and sloppy cross hatching really looses my interest and its instantly forget-able.

Try mixing in some dulling colors to add atmosphere between the point of view and the subject being painted.

Okay, so my copies are about as awful as my construction drawings. But I heard this is one of the best ways to improve if you want to draw anime, so I'll give it a shot. I have some major problems with hair and eyes, copying random characters until I get a sample of popular hairstyles should help with that.

Also, stupid question. What is the best brush to shade/color with in Krita? I've been using the airbrush and the basic 5 ink brush, but they don't look quite right. Is it another thing that comes with practice, or am I just using the wrong tool to start with?

>> No.4414727

I don’t think you need to stress over it. Im sure your friend will be happy with it no matter how simple or exaggerated the pose is.
Maybe bring the elbow back a bit so part of the arm is blocked by her side? Like if you bent your forearm 90 degrees and just had her making the peace sign.

One thing I found that's really helped me improve a lot is be a lot loose when doing the initial layin/sketch

In other words, be loose with my arm movement, and let the pencil do the work when blocking it in; it helps with the gesture and once you get something resembling what you want, go in with thicker lines/and or rulers/guides to straighten and clean things out

I need some advice on the colours for this. Should I do his cape green with dark green shading, green with hard black shading like on his body, or leave the cape white and do grey shading or hard black shading? I'm open to other colour suggestions. My knowledge of colour theory is piss poor. Also I know the shine on his armour isn't great.
Figure done without a reference. I tried to stylise it with pointier anatomy and slightly exaggerated proportions.
