they're definitely related, but not entirely synonymous. You can construct things other than figures, and you can do figure drawing without construction(copying from a reference for example).
So construction is really knowing the general shape and makeup of objects and being able to construct those objects in the correct way, whilst figuredrawing also deals with things like gesture and more subtle anatomy.

I don't have much perspective knowledge. I know how to set up one, two or three point perspective, but most of the time it just looks distorted.

Without knowing how your work looks and where your weaknesses lie I would reccomend drawabox as a warmup and then trying to apply that knowledge on depicting props/cars/houses with primitives, focus on giving your drawings form, the illusion of it existing in 3D space while keeping an eye on proportions. As your intuitiveness and comfort goes up try more complex objects that are interesting to you. Scott Robertsons How to Draw can be really daunting and dry if you're not comfortable with perspective but it really does have a lot of important and useful methods that you'll be able to shorthand and apply on the fly given enough practice

It's mostly by finding the mid-point and going from there. You learn to eyeball it eventually.

Proportion is the relative distance of landmarks to one another, in example, for the head it would be the distance of the hairline to the brow to the base of the nose and to the bottom of the chin, if the distance between these four landmarks are equal you would have what is considered the standard proportion of the head. Apply the same concept to a car it would be front bumper, to windshield to back window to rear bumper. The distance between these landmarks would depend on the type of vehicle and the perspective but if you have reference that eliminates some of the in depth thinking leaving you to focus on the proportional distance of these landmarks, proportions get more complex the more objects you add in scene since everything is relative and measured against each other, combine this with an ambitious perspective then you start getting your work cut out for you thus starting simpler and building up your intuitiveness would be wise

The phrase "it's just a drawing" is such a weak mindset. You are ok with the anatomy flaws, bad backgrounds, imperfection of a craft. When you stop getting angry after losing time, you've lost twice. There's always something to learn, and always room for improvement, never settle

on the main forum page, theres the list of forums, and on the right hand side there's a "live" feed ticker. it'll animate with the last replied to topic, latest blog entry, and there's another box with statuses. if a status interests you, you click on it and you can comment, same with the topics and blog posts.

Pardon the intrusion; I don't usually post here but I'm in dire need of help from some of the more experienced anime artists (or experienced artists in general).

Personally, without the threads as a centralized anonymous discussion hub I'd probably lose interest in interacting with the community, even if I kept posting submissions. i agree, i enjoy dad as it is now. The threads may be lacklustre at the moment but there’s always opportunities for good discussion. The discord right now is mainly for art discussion, which is fine, but general community interaction and fun shitposting (not the bad kind) goes on here which i like.
the user base being from /ic/ is honestly more refreshing than tumblr or twitter because people here can actually take critique and are generally more open minded

I think your faces are already pretty cute. But to make it more "moe" I'd just squish the face a little to make it more round shaped. (Top of the head with features up until nose and pull it down a little so eyebrows are middle point of face).

Additionally you can show one side of forhead a little bit more as it kind of have this cute and gilrish look. Regaring the eyes I wouldn't make them more bigger then the tomato face or top left one as it will start to border with chibi. Also cute faces usually have thin neck, round or pointed chin, sometimes unusuall eybrows and round cheeks.

These are just personal opinions so take from it what makes sense to you.
