To identify the type of light source, observe the shadows. A strong hard-light, like the sun will produce well defined shadows but a softer light, like overcast sky will produce blurry shadows.

In this photo, we can see that the woman's skin reflects the lightsource which in this case, is the sun. Look at the bright parts of the skin. Human skin can be seen as a really blurry, coloured mirror and this is most apparent with dark skin.

To study the lighting, look at her thigh or any part of her body, redraw this body part as a very basic shape with no colour, only grayscale, next, light the form using a similar intensity of lighting and from a similar direction (in this image, the light is coming from somewhere above and slightly in front of the model)

Once you have finished drawing this primitive form, compare the colour of her skin to the corresponding value on your primitive form. What colour is her halftone, what colour is the shadow, what colour are the highlights?

They're reflecting the light from the sky and the sun. Cool lighting is from the blue sky and is most apparent in darker skin tones (Especially if they're in shade) but the sun creates warm tones wherever it falls

an overcast sky scene means that the whole scene is in shadow (unless other light sources) thus that the primary lightning is coming from the reflected light of the sky, thus the shadows will inherit its cool property, right ? That's according to marco bucci (pic rel) and Mullins Schoolism course
Or is it considered a softlight/diffuse light thus what the sky light touches= core light? like a few book say I've read such as lancashire

The distinction is very important since in the first case we don't have center light, form light, terminator, halftones... meanwhile in the second we can use the whole value range since the scene is in light/shadow

I think all this confusion comes from the fact that both a soft/diffuse light scene and a scene in shadow will have no define hard cast shadow so people confound both

Light source looks like a sunset hitting her straight ahead, and the easiest way to tell are the leg shadows being cast on the log and the arm shadow on the stomach.

This means super warm light from the sun, and a diffuse blue ish light coming from the clear cast sky (not sure though, but you can see bluish tones in the shadows on the log and background).

Ambient occlusion is what you need If I understand correctly. As for light reflected from the sky it depends on the color of your sky. It can be neutral grey or intense blue like pic related. Also sometimes there are such lighting conditions irl when it's raining and one half of the sky is dark and covered with clouds and the other is bright and sunny. Looks pretty cool.
