That was done by his students, there's quite a few drawings. Standards these days are a joke.

Complete /beg/ here, I watched on a video where karl kopinski said that if you are gonna copy someone, copy the guys that are amazing, not the ones that are just good.
So I bought a complete guide to drawing from life and i've been studying it for like a week now and its been raping me lol.
I just hope that when i finisht it my drawings look more decent.
Also since this is a bridgman thread what book is better for me to buy next, 'Constructive Anatomy' or 'The human machine'?.

This honestly, Loomis, Vilppu, Hampton and etc are who're gonna give you the knowledge necessary to study Bridgeman and actually understand it

>Boys, a queer thing happened to me after I left the class last Tuesday. There was a coal wagon backed up onto the sidewalk on 48th street shooting coal into a cellar. As I passed by a fellow stuck his head, all begrimed with coal, out of the cellar and said "hello Mr. Bridgman." I said, "why hello there who are you?" Oh, the fellow said, don't you remember me? I was number one in your class last year.... The story varied; sometimes it was an iceman or a voice from a manhole.
Sounds like everything about this guy is a joke too.

I saw George Bridgman at an art supply store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for life studies or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and gesture drawing with his hand in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen charcoal sticks in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the sticks and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any anatomical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each stick and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I like Bridgman a lot, recently bought the green "Life Drawing" book and it does require some effort to understand what's going on but if you put in the time and effort it will teach you quite a lot.
I also have "Constructive Anatomy" which I find really useful too.
The books are quite cheap so I'm looking to get as many as I can.

Erik recommends vilppu and ive heard Jeff mention him in a positive light too. Erik gist even has a free pdf book he made on fundamental figure drawing well worth checking it and easy to find with a google search.
