Hews is really good at putting the figure in perspective and foreshortening. Draw the body in as many angles and as much foreshortening as you can, Beyond that he has standard anime rendering which I'm sure has a lot of tutorials online. It'd prob help to to try to directly replicate his rendering. You could learn it without a tutorial if you work at it long enough

Join FurAffinity and make a post with a commissions pricelist and examples, making it clear you'll do anything and won't refuse a subject, then see how many sickfucks with little presence but major bucks fill your PMs with cringey requests. You won't necessarily get more money per commission, but you're likely to get a higher quantity of commissions and more money if you were only doing your plain, usual stuff, if that makes any sense.

Nah, you're overthinking this. All art communities online will have a certain level of competitiveness between some of it's members. Smut art is no different. A lot of smut artist are happy to just do what they do in their own little niche alongside another artist without much concern for where they stand in comparison to others.

Honestly, it doesn't even make that much sense to think of smut artist as a separate distinct group. Sure, some people specialize in that more or have it as more core to their brand/business model but generally, the vast majority of artist do some level of lewd drawings every now and again. Like, is Kim-Gi a smut artist?

Give one example of a popular artist who faded into obscurity due to stagnation, not drama/real life issues/mental breakdowns/etc. There are plenty of example of artists who are making their living drawing the same things over and over again - gaining popularity in fact - yet I can't think of any who have failed due to it.

Just to be clear I'm not talking about art skill in general. Of course you'll be a better artist if you practice new things. I'm talking about patreon bucks because for many that's the only thing that matters.
