Very visual learner, so despite not reading their books, picked up stuff looking at the drawings of Bridgman, Hampton, Krenz's mannequins.
Proko's figure drawing playlist was also key.

Here's my go at one of these. Is it possible you could give me a critique or tip? It's rare to have someone as skilled as you go through and reply to every single drawing posted. I've been feeling stagnant in my progress and idk if my stylization of the figure is hampering my progress or not.

Rather than a crit, this is just showing how I'd personally handle/think about things. Take this with a kilo of salt.

First, just wanted to say I can see you intentionally deviated from the ref which is neat. Your style is lovely and simple.
Reminds me of old 2d Disney animation.

1. Think of the main masses: Head, Ribcage, Hip/butt.
These give structure to your figure.
Think of joints. Keep in mind that these circles have weight.

2. Alright, so now connect those masses and joints. Use CSI lines, connect in a ~flowy~ way.

3. Adding extra details, small things like skin stretching, fat bumps, flesh creasing etc, remember the figure is made of flesh, blood, bones. I like to emphasise bony landmarks/joints, like ankle, knee, elbow.

basically it boils down to checking horizontals, verticals, angles and negative space.

If you think about blocking in as a series of straight lines, carving them later is much easier than going in perfect in the first try
