https://www.instagram.com/p/B66dWTapAj5/ - 7k likes here, if we assume only every lets say 8'th person liked his post when they saw it, it will be 7k*8=56k people reached total. Out of those 7k, lets take 2% as people who bougth the courses, it will be 7000/100*2=140. Lets reduce it to 100 for argument sake, maybe some of likers dont even know he have a course. I assume he sold atleast 100 of his courses online.

Are you sure number of peole you see are not some kind of "recent" or somethign like that? And it a actually "total enrolled"?

Anyway, i jsut checked website selling his courses, and i realised they have enrolled numbers KEK. Anyway, i was right, even lowballed him, it's not 100, he sold ~200 of each.

I'ts not a little number anon. But anyway, i understand that you afraid for your safety.

>I'ts not a little number anon
Except it is, since the number didn't change much since I got it. Very small sample pool, very easy to tell who got it much later than the others and and would make for an easy suspect of uploading to look into account activity, etc.

>What are level of people who will benefit from it? Is it good? Is explanation easy and make sense?
Anyone past the very basics could benefit a lot, he works in measurements of 2 for nearly everything and that takes away a lot of the pressure when learning structure. He teaches structure well while making sure to give shorthands so that you know what you're doing, but also don't have to over-analyze if you need something simple on the paper immediately.

The way he works reminds me a lot of the HitoKaku books and Bridgman, which were the ones that made the most sense to me starting out, but his shape language is really slick and intuitive. The way he goes over subjects, there's not a lot of room for misunderstandings and the class asked some good questions in the courses I watched completely (didn't get to see the composition one yet, but it's downloaded).

Its like being in an atelier one on one with a master showing you everything you need to know about drawing portraits. I like that he teaches proper visual measuring and plumb lines at the beginning, stresses the importance of accuracy in the sketch stage, the importance of working with shape first for accuracy before getting into the forms, and shows everything you need to know starting out about facial features, setting values, everything. It's enough for me to continue where I left off when I couldn't afford going to the atelier anymore and I'm eternally grateful to whoever shared this. Also he hits on some points that my teacher didn't and I honestly wish he did. You get to watch him draw and explain in real time, though sometimes he speeds it up through the stuff that would be tedious to watch, which I appreciate. There are also documents included which explain the concepts he teaches along the way more in depth which is much appreciated.

So, there you go. That's what it's like and why I like it so much. Way better than proko's Loomis regurgitation with him begging for like share and subscribe at the end of every short lesson. I think that class is worth the $150 you'd normally be paying for it, and if you go through it and really hammer down the stuff he's teaching you could bust out some awesome portraits.

Probably because you learn most of what you need from the portrait and figure drawing ones. Can you describe form, can you draw what's in front of you? Then you can do still life.

I mean, I dunno about that course. It looks like they have you "train" using deviantart art bases. There is a course out there that is legit shit but you need to go through 10 proxies to even get it because of language barrier. And you can't download the videos (I tried everything, even using a virtual machine). In the end most anime instruction is just derived from western sources. There are manga specific things that the east does but you might as well just learn the language in the meantime so you can just buy books and read instead.

I suggest you focus on the newer courses for which we have no sources in HD: [Complete Sight-Size Drawing Course] [Introduction to Landscape Painting] [An Observational Approach to the Portrait in Clay] [Drawing In Space].

Or the ones in higher demand in 1080p like: [Renaissance Head Drawing - Glenn Vilppu] and [The Frank Reilly Drawing Method - Mark Westermoe] Or all the reference images in the best resolution possible.

Or the ones about Art Thor in General: [Composition for Visual Artists] [Color Theory Bootcamp] [Elements of Traditional Composition]. These are available in SD though.

Scott Robertson's books hits the beginner like a brick. I recommend David Chelsea's perspective book.

The only fault is that it doesn't teach how to practice perspective while Scott Robertson gives you plenty of assignments and exercises but the text is very dry.

So I'm doing the Steve Huston figure drawing thing from the OP.

When we watch him do the master drawings, I don't feel like I learn very much. What should I be looking out for? Should I be drawing along side him?

>Should I be drawing along side him?

That's what I've been doing, that and making notes.

Treat it like a lecture rather than a step-by-step guide, with the old masters bit in particular he's trying to get you to think about how those people have approached the task at hand, to get into that headspace of approaching the construction in a certain style, and that's a lot easier and stronger learning process if you're joining in, trying to apply the methods yourself.
