The 2000 AD Script Book has numerous examples to sift through; I'd recommend finding others like it, even if they don't look as pretty.

There are lots of scripts leftover from the webcomic boom of the late 90s and early 00s. God, I wish the Warren Ellis Forum were still around.

Scott McCloud's books (Understanding Comics and Making Comics, specifically) are just foundational texts for Comics Studies. They're great reads, but he doesn't give any examples as to how writers actually work in the industry.

Can anyone recommend reference books on Medieval Europe?
I used to have a nice book when I was a kid that had everything. Armors, clothing, weapons, architecture, fortresses, it even had a section about dungeons and torture devices. There were all kinds of details about how things worked and why they were built the way they were.
I wish I could remember the title, I miss that fucking book.

Jesus you dumb shits. Stop uploading so many books by big name publishers (Disney, marvel, dark horse, kadokawa, etc) and digital books to E-hentai. God damn game magazines that are still sold in stores? Brand new digital books?

The place only accepts Artbooks because they don't care and it flies under the radar. For years it was mostly just 25 year old mecha artbooks and other obscure things no one would care about. If there's any attention/focus on them they could easily start cracking down on these. Just takes one publisher to get pissy and file a legal complaint and all hell would break lose. And they have a super soft "expunge" policy which barely does anything. Tomorrow they could just delete all the expunged galleries if they wanted to.

Stop playing with fire nitwits. You're going to ruin things for everyone. Be way more selective to what's uploaded. 10, 20, 30 year old mecha/otaku shit? Sure. Brand new digital edition of some book? No. And half that shit is ugly garbage anyways.

It's not meant to be a den of piracy of modern Japanese media. We got nyaa for that.

There's also a book called Built to Last, that combines three of Macauley's books: Castle, Cathedral, and Mosque. Castle was originally published in 1982, and that's the version that I have. In 2013, Macauley published a revised version in full colour.

I remember seeing another, more colourful book similar to what you described - and I swear I bought it for my son - but I can't find it. Either I only thought about it and never actually bought it, or we already sold it back to Half Price Books for nothing.

The correct answer is none of the above because you're asking the wrong question. All of these are container formats that have no direct relation to image quality.

PDF and epub may contain images at various quality and resolution mixed with text. CBR/CBZ are images contained in a RAR/ZIP format.

The best thing to do is not to convert anything unless you know what you're doing.

it's irrelevant what you say, yande are buying and scanning the newest jp books however they want. If anything zoomers putting up disney and marvel is totally on them, idk who even cares about their books.

also why would a publisher care about a book (that usually doesn't see large sales anyways) that's been scanned and dl like 20 times.. they make their biggest artbook sales with preorders since people usually want the physical shit for good books.

Look up how books are treated if they don't sell and need to be scrapped to make room for new releases on the shelves.... publishers literally need to be pay money to get the books destroyed since keeping them at a warehouse is even more expensive. That's the sad truth about book publishing (or rather for authors) and why everything is going more towards digital, since you can sell literal 0 value pixels for money.

And it's kind of bad; I wish people would stop recommending it. No one needs a 200+ page biography that outlines the basics of shōnen story structure. Depends on what kind of references you are looking for and where you at.

Any big book store like kinokuniya's has the recent stuff and Sekaido's has books as well as art supplies and are easy to navigate, usually my main go to places.

If you like old books and want the thrill of finding a gem, there is the town jinbocho but if you are there on a holiday I wouldn't recommended as it takes hours browsing through all the bookstores and you may not come home with anything.

Well I guess you're out of luck then? 200 dollars is not much. Think of it as payment for all the artbooks and other pirated Japanese media that other people have made available over the years that you enjoy.

Start saving up now and in a few months you'll ahve it. Even 5 bucks a week will only take 40 weeks. Crowd fund among friends/family. Cut some minor things and divert it to the fund. Like drink some 10 cent Ceylon tea instead of ordering out. Whatever it is I guraantee you if you're a westerner you spend hundreds on bullshit every year and you barely even notice it.

If you really want the book you'll make sacrifices for it. Otherwise you're looking for a handout.

I don't think that's an anime thing. Japan has S class ranking that's above A. Now I get what they were going for. I thought "SS" was short for something, rather than it's SS grade.

Is there a book about making digital anime (as in the animation)?
Looking for a book that goes into the specifics about making anime on a computer (like the resolution, post-processing, color palettes, editing, etc).
There's this one, but it's for traditional anime rather than digital and it doesn't have a lot of info about the technical process.

Very little. It's basically a really big coffee table book ... but it's so large and crammed full of so much of his art that you'd be hard pressed to find a better source if you wanted to study him.

There are a few studies in the book (like pic related), and there are some text pieces where he described certain aspects of his process, but almost all of the book is given over to his finished work; for example, there's a swath of nearly 100 pages right in the middle given over to 3 x3 grids of covers Leyendecker had painted for Collier's Weekly and the Saturday Evening Post, interspersed with larger reproductions of similar paintings.

Leyendecker was nothing if not prolific. He painted for the Saturday Evening Post over four decades from the May 20, 1899 issue through 1943, producing 322 different covers - topping even the streak set by his contemporary, Norman Rockwell. The book contains all 322 covers and, it says, shows some of them more than once. I'm not sure which ones are duplicates, as it marks them as being "of particular importance", but I suspect they are the larger images interspersed throughout the gallery section on some of the facing pages.

I've been a fan of his work after a random search for idea on vintage design for a label commission. Something about his brush strokes and the stylisation caught my eyes and fascinating. When will someone compile his cover arts like the one they did to Norman Rockwell ? I'm making my own collection of that at the moment because I can't really go to the museum where his works are being exhibited personally. Not to mention that the book costs more on the delivery part rather than the book itself, just because I'm neither a US or EU resident, even the used book are pricier, just for the delivery kek.

Two recommendations for everyone for sketching from b-ok.cc

- Artists Guide to Sketching - James Gurney
/book/5304130/7b91c4
Didn't realise he had another educational book but came across it in one of his videos. Its a bit too heavy on text for me but sound otherwise.

- The Art of Pencil Drawing - Ernest W. Watson

Known more for his creative perspective book, this is an incredible book for sketching instruction, full of beautiful drawings in a tonal style and very logical text.
