How and where do I reliably get critique from people who know what they're talking about and aren't afraid to point out your mistakes?

I either get no replies on social media or they're too nice, and if I get some replies here it's often useless on untrustworthy information.
Obviously to an extent I can compare myself to artists I like and decide what I should practice and do differently based on that, but I'd really like to get more opinions so I can know if my art is appealing or not.

Why would you ask here where or how to get critique if you don't trust the information given here in the first place?

1. (pretend to) be a smug asshole, emulate pic related's behavior to a T.
2. eventually you will form a hatedom where you have blogs dedicated to your arrogance and deep analysis on why your art sucks. You can now stop posting your art/replies and follow these posts to get gud and when you return your art will be so good that no one recognizes your old account.
3.???
4. profit

haha funni, but like I already said I've posted my art here before and either got no responses or nothing useful. Of course, I'm not entitled to anyones time, but still I would like as much constructive criticism as I can get to improve. Here's a handful from this year though.

because "check out this community" is far less subjective that being told I should draw differently from someone who may or may not know what they're talking about

Genuinely not a bad idea lol

From top to right and order of appeal I would say 1, 3, 4, 2. Simply for the fact that your light and rendering needs work that the more complex you go, the more it shows.

But...

Yes, some of us can tell you can, so people tend to not comment and just say, good work as you already show competency.

All I could offer is ''guesses''. Like my guess is, you don't regularly go to real life drawing sessions and I would recommend doing so. It will help you knowing that the scm in the neck is that thin or changes planes that sharply that you should of used a softer round brush to graduate the plane change etc.

Or I could say NO ANIME OR MANGA because, again guessing here, you picked up the neck thing from working off referencing line work.

Thank you for this.
You're right... I've spent most of my time only learning how to draw with lines and a good amount of that uses anime as inspiration, so when it comes to trying to render it can be a struggle. I've thought about going to life drawing, but never bothered really looking into it. Again though, you're right. Maybe I'd even make some art friends that way.

Going forward I need to practice rendering a lot more and improve my understanding of realistic anatomy. Gotcha.
