Wrong. It depends on the actual work.
You can legally sell fanart as long as it's not copypasted from the original.
Meaning, you can draw a protected IP but with a very different style and have the right to make money off of it.
The original holders might have the right to ask to take it down or to get royalties but you can take it to court if they are trying to scam you.
Even then it's not even sure they will or canä do much against it because of bad PR and legal costs if they arise.
So, most of them just ignore it.
And, in this threads topic; Sakimi chan or any porn artist drawing protected IPs COULD be rightfully sued to hell and back, but first of all porn/nsfw content of protected IPs is protected under the parody law.
Second, the companies who owns the characters might not even know of their existence.
Third, most artist are not even worth the legal costs and the case might turn out in the artists favor.
Lastly, due to the nature of porn and the internet, it's not even worth bothering to think about trying to remove it to keep a clean image.

Wow, she used to be so good, this is really amazing. It's a shame she's so skilled but does only this airbrushed and photobashed crap nowadays. I really try not to judge the anatomy because I understand there are people who are into exaggaration, but it's simply the rendering style that looks really off to me. It's just too blurry, especially compared to the photobashed textures, reminds me of these shitty mobile game ads, you know what I mean. It's a proof of how important your brushwork actually is, digital painting is actually *painting*, there has to be some tool texture in order for it to look good. Fan art has always confused me, but I'm certain much of it is appreciated by the owners of the copyright until it conflicts with their interests (ie porn) or is a direct copy of official artwork. Fair Use is a thing, but how do you judge the portrayal of a character? Is it a significant enough change to just draw Joel from the Last of Us walking through the forest? Does any non-canon material constitute enough of a change in meaning? That sounds like a headache and a half, and I doubt that anyone is going to care enough to sue some random artist over it. In fact, some copyright holders have made deals with anime conventions and Redbubble and shit because fan art probably increases profit and reputation. I'm just saying that only under special circumstances will anyone actually do something about fan art, so it's misleading to say it's 100% not allowed.
