Looking to the future, I don't see big art websites like DeviantArt, ArtStation or Pixiv doing anything any time soon.
There's some noise about Twitter >>4239328 so it's always wise to keep yourself on multiple social medias in case something does actually happen.

A while a go someone posted a link to a site where you could draw stuff, and leave a 140 character limit comment.

Did something go wrong or did they say "fuck this account in particular"? maybe an error in archiving? it was one of the ones i rushed to archive the works of so i only have 5 works from them on hand :(

I had a websute back in 04? Called O'hooligan's and it had 100 pages of supressed knowledge, like free energy inventions, and little onown cures for lab creates diseases. All I find on the way back machine is like 3 pages, showing nothing but hand painted jeans for sale.

They love to delete shit when they are ordered to, which is why the wayback machine is not reliable. They deleted about 6 years of livejournal and left a huge gap, removing whole deleted community pages from history for god knows what reason. When you ask them about it, they play dumb or ignore you.

I'm rewriting the flash program that plays the .gz replays in javascript. A lot of it is finished, but it has some problems. I've put it on hold for a little bit for now. Atm I'm just writing a script that unpacks the warc files and gets all the .gz and .png files. Since drawr is already kill there's not really a rush, so I'm taking it easy. I'm almost done with the unpacking now anyways.

I also want to look into if it's possible to convert the replays into videos somehow. Don't have too many ideas on how to go about this, though.

Little status update.

Chipping away at this project.. Met with so many problems, but it's been pretty interesting to work on. I'm at a point now where I can replay files in the browser or I can export to frames that I can throw into ffmpeg to make a video, like the one attached. 4chan doesn't seem to support vp9 encoding for webm's, only vp8 which is a shame, since the files could've been made much smaller, but whatever I guess.

Not quite finished yet, but getting there.

Made an option to ignore all the undos people do, enabled here. Helpful to make sizes smaller since sometimes cuts it in half lol.. Don't really know if having undos in is nice or not. Also lowered the quality quite a bit to fit this one in..

I think this is ready enough for people to use now if anyone's interested. It's fairly barebones but I think it gets the job done. Let me know if anything's broken or changes that would be good. You can playback the drawing, navigate through it, and download all the individual image frames to make a video. Disable undos if it gets too slow.

Hopefully it's a little easier to use than the flash player. You just need the .gz files here. If a file pops up as missing it's a repost, if you have the repost file chuck it in there, otherwise just play without it.

I haven't started extracting the warcs yet, just have a bunch from my own scraping. Can just ask if you want someone specific uploaded. I cba to upload everything, there's way too much. Some users here and there are no problem, though.

Found a bug in the drawer, it crashed when trying to export huge replays (10k+ frames). Fixed now by downloading the frames in chunks instead of just 1 huge zip. It's slow as shit when doing these huge videos, but at least it works.

It's all clientside, so even if it's hosted there's no bandwidth involved. It's just hosted for ease of use. It's fairly easy to setup offline if you really want to though.

There's a lot of cleanup I could do, but it seems stable enough as is for now. Dunno how much more time I'll put into it. Probably just fix bugs at this point.
